Except that it relies on the very bold assumption that we will definitely be playing Premier League football again next season, which is certainly not guaranteed at this point.I would also argue that Chester, even given his injury woes last season, is still a useful player to have around next year. I certainly wouldn't be chucking him out in favour of another random squad centre-half, most likely to the tune of several million quid that could be better spent elsewhere.I actually think it's pretty disrespectful to our club captain too, since he's been nothing but a loyal servant to the club and - when he was fully fit - was consistently one of the best players on the pitch.
If he doesn't play today Dean's nuts and he will be sold next month.
