I think I'd take the point right now.

Me too.

We need a couple of attacking options and another midfielder before the window shuts.
Full back as well please!

That advert at half-time about walking football might be the best option for Kozak.

I dunno. I genuinely think you are watching two of the best three teams in the Championship (Newcastle 3rd).

Oh dear. Sub subbed. I know there are mitigating circumstances but that's not good.

You've got to question his inclusion in the first place.

That's the point RDM was making yesterday. We have no depth at all at that position and very little genuine quality, McCormack aside.

RHM has to be worth a go.

I think the key thing here is the difference between a player being worth a go and worth relying on.

I'd agree RHM is the sort of player who deserves a chance, but rely on him playing enough of a part to deliver all the options we need up front? That'd be nuts. That's the sort of mistake we've made over and over these last five years or so.

As a sub in a game away from home when you're main striker has been taken off? I think it would be the perfect opportunity. No one says he has to play every game. Lord knows he has the talent.

I expected people to react because they don't like having their opinion challenged, I'd just like people to consider overall performances rather than picking a few misplaced passes and deciding someone is shit.

Or maybe they just have a different opinion to you, and are going off all his appearances this season so far rather than just one shot, which you appear to be.

Thank you for making my point for me.  You are judging him on 'all his appearances this season' not on his performance in this game.  That's exactly what I'm complaining about.  Oh and I'm not judging him on 1 shot, I'm judging him on the fact that we've been better in midfield than they have and that doesn't happen by accident.

You'll have to point out where I've done that.

Where you've said exactly what I quoted?  It's literally right there, should I make it bold for you?

To simplify, saying someone is playing shit in a single game and justifying it by saying he's been shit in other games is just fundamentally wrong.  My point all along was that people had already decided Gardner was going to be shit before kick off and they're ignoring anything that doesn't fit that so they can carry on calling him shit.  The truth is he's done his job pretty well today, as have the entire team except for Gestede and Kozak.
