I'd play 5 in midfield to cover our defence and make up for not having any dominant midfielder in there. Surely 2 or 3 of them together can make a decent show of trying to win the ball. Forget trying to play ayew, McCormack and Gestade in the same team. Won't work. In fact Gestede doesn't work full stop

As long as Richards and Okore are nowhere near the back four then we have a chance. At this point I'd take Bacuna over Hutton.

Gardner can't be anywhere near the squad either and it would be nice to see another midfielder come in to give everybody a lift.

We need a win and Rotherham are a poor side. It's on a plate asking for it and it looks like it will be down to Elphick to drag the side mentally through it.

Winning games, especially at home, is the only way mentally to avert the impression of England's middle order on a 1990s tour of Australia and the inevitable collapse that follows the slightest of set back.

We have to best Rotherham and Huddersfield. No ifs or buts, we have to best them.

RDM has to have learnt a lot from last night about four or five players. He should do himself a favour and pick Amavi, Baker, Elphick and Bacuna at the back. He should bring Westwood into the middle with Tshibola. Xia should put his hand in his pocket and target six players between now and the windows close;

Centre forward to replace Gestede
Centre half on the left to be first pick over Baker
Right back
Creative midfielder
Defensive midfielder
Winger

A lot of work, but the money is there, the inclination must be there too.

I know Westwood, Baker, Hutton, Cissokho, Bacuna and the Blackpool beach Donkey will be playing, therefore with only a team of 5 I fully expect to lose again.

Forgot Gardner, it's easy to do so, make that a team of 4. Shite.

Depressingly accurate.

I'm coming up for this one, I have no idea what to expect. Heart says Elphick coming back will make a big difference and a decentish crowd will encourage the team on to a  win. Head says they'll come to stone wall, bully us and win with a goal from a defending or goalkeeping mistake as opposed to anything they do themselves.
Sod it, the heart wins, 3-1 Villa and Gestede to get a brace with two headers from corners.

I suppose last night guarantees the return of Bacuna And Westwood for this game

unfortunately it doesn't seem to matter what players we pick or formation they play in, who the manager is, who the owner is,  what league the opposition play in, we still can't stop losing football games

Aren't we shelling out roughly a million pounds an hour for some ex-Barcelona wonderkid and don't we have our own home grown wonderkid, reputedly the next best thing since George Best.

Its £2 million every time we mention his name. £3.5 if we mention him in an oblique way.

Grealish, Green and Traore are all youngsters. They're talented, but somebody older and who isn't the equivalent of an empty crisp packet blowing up the line would be nice.

that's what makes me larf really. If a young player leaves Man U say or Juventus he's probably not good enough. If it's Barca, he's a mixture of Messi and Ronaldo that they've decided to gift some lucky club with

Oh well, that's 7 million I have personally wasted of our money on the f##king amazing vanishing man who laughingly had the privilege of watching Messi at close hand.

Did Pogba only play once for Juventus then?

No, he left Man United. Now he's left Juventus. If they leave those two clubs then they're probably not good enough.

You're comparing  23 year old, 150 games Pogba to 20 year old 1 game Traore.? No wonder you have high hopes for Grealish
