Started well, outclassed Luton, looked confident. Only one winner.
Scored, got casual, sloppy, vulnerable.
Conceded equaliser, shat our pants, lost all composure. Only one winner.

And people actually think we can get promoted?

Not in a League Cup match, no.

We need to find a way of dealing mentally with set backs in games. They will happen, but you need to be able to react positively to them. We completely crumble and there's no leadership on the pitch.

We looked pretty good up until Gardner lost possession. From that moment on we've looked like we did last season.

On the plus side, Amavi seems none the worse for wear after that horrible injury.

Get Gardner and Richards off in the second half and we might stand a chance.

Hylton and Marriott doing well against our sub-Premier defence.

Time for RDM to earn his corn. Instilling confidence is the main thing

Not sure if green is looking good or not ready. Maybe a bit of both

And people actually think we can get promoted?  Club is a shambles with the mental strength of a biscuit.

Amazing how you appear after we concede and not a peep when we were winning.

he was out petting his lemming when we scored

Even with new players the mental strength is so brittle.  It really doesn't matter who we play, if we let a goal in you can see the confidence rush out of them.  I actually thought we were playing well until they scored with their first shot of the game.  Gardner was pretty good for first 20 but he struggles when we are under pressure and then becomes mistake prone.  Hopefully RDM can inject a bit of confidence back.

Since Barry I dont recall us having a midfield general. Someone who is calm under pressure, doesnt panic, uses the ball well and can make things happen. Thats what we are missing and isnt at the club presently

The Gardner I've seen has always struggled in tight situations and I'm not seeing much difference this season

Our mental fragility is a massive problem.

Agree. A won would be great for confidence...but go down to these then the old demons come back.
We can't even phrase the bloody notion properly anymore it's become so alien to us (sorry DB - I know it's a typo).
