Our mental fragility is a massive problem.

I am struggling to see what Gardner offers, or will ever offer.
He seems to me to be another in a long, long line of anonymous Villa midfielders.
Has no impact on the game other than jogging around a bit.

Surely it's not TISH-bola?

Isn't it SHI-bola, with a suppressed T?

That's going to annoy me this season.

I would pronounce it TSHI-bola myself.  I guess it's not a natural sound in the English language so some commentators will have problems with it.

You and me both. But I'd at least hope a commentator to go with Shi-bola, rather than "there's an unusual jumble of letters there, I'll just let my mouth make the sound my brain thinks that those letters should be".

Agree. A won would be great for confidence...but go down to these then the old demons come back.

Exactly what I was just thinking. He's a Westwood clone, isn't he? Jogs around in the middle, plays a few easy passes, doesn't track his man, doesn't win the ball, and doesn't offer anything going forwards.

It's been ages since we had the sort of midfielder who wants the ball all the time and dictates the play.

They're terrified again. The whole team has stopped playing.

Not that we should panic just yet but one problem is that we don't have much on the bench that would change things.  Could maybe bring Elphick on to try and tighter up.  Gustede would be the obvious attacking switch.

Our mental fragility is a massive problem.

Our sloppiness mainly in midfield is our main problem. Gardner for the beginning of their goal.
