Signed the petition ( many thanks & appreciation to the organiser ).
I had , unfortunately , already booked my flight from Spain for this game , not anticipating any difficulties in buying a ticket, ( yes...I know ! )  now , apparently they are sold out and even if we get a few more it´s highly unlikely there will be any left for general sale.
I  wrote an email to Wednesday last week ( not replied to )  , complaining about the delay in getting ticketing info out , especially with regards to advance buying of Train tickets etc.  Copied it to to the Football Supporters Federation and received this reply from their Communications Officer:
“ Very disappointing to see such a high price point for Sheff Wed away. The Premier League's £30 price cap for away tickets has brought Championship prices into particularly sharp focus (as a Newcastle fan I entirely sympathise - fully expecting ourselves to be gouged a lot this season, too!)
Football League ticket prices were a big area of discussion at the Supporters Summit at Wembley Saturday gone and we'll continue to support fan groups, such as our affiliated  members Aston Villa Supporters Trust, if they wish to continue campaigning on the issue .”
Kind regards,
Liam Thompson / Communications Officer
FSF

´Gouging´sums up the actions of  Wednesday...I hope the Supporters Trust are campaigning on our behalf , and how can there be a 30 quid  price cap for away games in the Premier Lge and no such thing  in the ´lesser´ Championship?, it beggars belief..............Godzvilla!

How is charging them the same as we charge every other club being petty?

I misread his post. I meant to suggest we shouldn't charge their fans a high price just because they are doing it to us.

Yes, we should charge the same for all away fans and not rip any of them off.

Apologies robbo

2,043 is a crap allocation - didn't we get 6,000 in the new all seated Leppings Lane end when BFR became manager.  We would sell 4,000 easy.

Football League clubs only have to allocate you 2000 and I imagine Wednesday wanted to hold off in issuing further batches until we'd sold them.

I say that as when the details were announced our website said we'd asked for more.

Somebody has said we'll get another 2500, which would make for a pretty good away following.

Booked mine this morning! Tried to ignore the prices as I was entering payment details. I know it's bad but I'd never not go. UTV.
I respect your loyalty but this is exactly why a protest like this will never work, there will always be a section of our support that will go even if it was 500 quid. I imagine we've probably sold 1000 tickets already to people who didn't bat an eye lid at the ticket price so they won't back down and complaining just seems a waste of time. Our club should be the bigger man here, do the opposite and charge £20 for Wednesday fans in the reverse fixture to reward them for having to put up with such poor pricing policies from their own club.
why? We should just charge our normal away supporters prices.

Do you think your average football fan and working man or woman in Sheffield is any more affluent than his or her counterpart in Birmingham. Do you not think they have bills to pay and families to look after? Would charging them the same the price at VP solve anything or does it ultimately penalize a group that had nothing to do with the price being set by their club. We should take the higher ground here and do what is right for supporters and not be petty about it.
before you jump in with both feet, bother to properly read my posts next time please. I wasn't advocating charging them the same as they are charging us. Rather that we should just charge whatever our normal away prices are.

So if these sell out in a day and a half, are we going to have to wait another week for more?

What a tin pot, Mickey Mouse outfit those robbing, northern tarts are.

I can't see anymore being given after this lot. Wednesday's costs of policing and stewarding if they gave us the lower tier would probably outweigh any benefit of doing so.

They'd make over 67k if they gave us 1500 in the lower tier, which would more than cover the costs of policing the entire event.

The Championship away fan policy seems strange.  As an example Small Heath gave Middlesbrough 5,000 for a Friday night game at the Sty.  I know we won't get that at the Sty but I am using it as an example of where increased allocations are inconsistent.

According to a Wednesday forum the away end has a reduced capacity (due to Health & Safety maybe?). Doesn't say what it's been reduced to but I suspect the extra pittance of tickets will be our lot.

I remember people consoling themselves with the thought that relegation would be exciting as we would be visiting grounds we hadn't been to for ages, and thinking that it would be a right pain in the arse to get tickets. Not looking good so far.

I'll be gutted if I can't get Derby or Bristol City tickets.
