Booked mine this morning! Tried to ignore the prices as I was entering payment details. I know it's bad but I'd never not go. UTV.
I respect your loyalty but this is exactly why a protest like this will never work, there will always be a section of our support that will go even if it was 500 quid. I imagine we've probably sold 1000 tickets already to people who didn't bat an eye lid at the ticket price so they won't back down and complaining just seems a waste of time. Our club should be the bigger man here, do the opposite and charge £20 for Wednesday fans in the reverse fixture to reward them for having to put up with such poor pricing policies from their own club.

I should imagine every club in this league was looking forward to us getting relegated on the basis that we will sell out our away allocation and they can put up the prices accordingly and hit us in the pockets it pees me off that clubs can do thiis

It was one of the aways I was looking forward to and you're right, you'll never get people to boycott something they want to do, which is why we can be exploited.

That said, the top flight has taken a big step in the £30 away cap and its a pity Wednesday cannot follow through themselves and not charge us the most you can possibly pay as an away fan in English football this season, but it is what it is.

I bought two tickets for Luton and even with the booking fee I'd have enough left over to buy a warm bottle of Carlsberg at half time.

So we should let every club put there prices up for the villa game but charge them less for the return at vp.
Do you honestly think a shelf wed fan but r any other fan  gives a toss about what we are being charged

Yes, Sheffield Wednesday fans do care what their club are charging others, as do fans of other clubs. There's a growing and overdue realisation that we are all on the same side and opinions such as yours are thankfully becoming less prevalent.

It looks to me like it's probably a Sheffield Wednesday fan who created the petition that Dave has linked.

So yes.

I'd imagine they are bothered as they're being charged the same and higher!

Their POTG prices are £42-49 for our game so you'd reckon it bothers them as well.

As I posted on another thread, the Wednesday fans were talking about boycotting the game. I imagine this petition has probably grown from those discussions.
As an aside (and to give you an idea of what the Wednesday fans are dealing with) their owner took part in a Q&A session within the last couple of days. Here's a couple of the highlights (I may be paraphrasing as I wasn't there, but this is how it was relayed to me)

Q: Do you no think that up to £49 for a ticket is too much?

A: We just had a successful season, that's got to be paid for.

Q: Will next season's home shirt design be more traditional, with proper stripes?

A: I don't like stripes, personally I'd prefer it if we played in red.

I got this from a Wednesday fan at work, I don't know him very well but he's got no reason to lie to me.

why? We should just charge our normal away supporters prices.

Because 20 is plenty!

Villa fans truly are brilliant. Allocation sold out despite being completely ripped off and the club has asked for more tickets. Our lot deserve a good time given some of the shit served up last season so happy travels to all of you this season.

Do you think your average football fan and working man or woman in Sheffield is any more affluent than his or her counterpart in Birmingham. Do you not think they have bills to pay and families to look after? Would charging them the same the price at VP solve anything or does it ultimately penalize a group that had nothing to do with the price being set by their club. We should take the higher ground here and do what is right for supporters and not be petty about it.

How is charging them the same as we charge every other club being petty?
