I like it when Iceland do it but I think copying it is cringeworthy and I'd be truly disappointed if any Villa fan were to consider adopting it. It'd be like when Bolo Zenden tried to copy Asamoah Gyan when he was doing his weird little stampy dance after scoring at Chelsea a few years back.

I've always thought the playing of "You'll Never Walk Alone" pre match helps create a superb atmosphere at Anfield, we could give that a go and then maybe the players could perform the haka to really get the atmosphere fired up.
Just shows how people forget origins of songs- "You'll Never Walk alone " this from the musical Carousel was first sung by the Blues at St Andrews .... Hijacked by Scousers and believed by all to be their copyright, just like like us singing " Always look on the bright side of life" by Monty Python , hijacked by Mancs . Sing anything often enough and loud enough and it soon becomes yours

Where did I make any mention of the origin of the song? Thanks for the history lesson but there really wasn't any need!

Did you see the Welsh players and fans trying to do the Clap thingy yesterday. Embarrassing mess

The clap is great when done by Iceland but the efforts I've seen/heard by other sets of supporters have been terrible.

To be fair, Iceland have had about 1000 years to gtet it right.

I think we could do like the Bundesliga when we score - but the problem would be that we would have so little practice.

Being in the crowd like that is actually fun! (sorry the "we should do as we always do"-crowd)

Those Germans and their zany sense of humour :)

There's bound to be attempts to get it going. The Icelandic chant was orchestrated by a drum and I hope no Villa fan ever brings one of those to the match.

The only ' Thunderclap ' I'd like to hear is Thunderclap Newman's  ' Something in the Air ', quite relevant right now, imo...................Godzvilla!

You must be as old as me. Clearly, the younger members not old enough to pick up on my last post.

My ManCi£y supporting "mate" always goes on about how great the Poznan is...I just like to remind him it's something else they nicked off another club and it's nothing to be proud of.
And he is a "massive" Ci£y fan, having seen them play twice in two seasons...and he was late for the Villa game because he was "having lunch" in the city.

So, it's a NO from me...let's make our own stuff up!

After awhile it would get annoying.  Also, I prefer the banter of English football chants.  But it was a nice touch when the German fans adopted it, and I wouldn't mind us doing on the odd occrusion.  Less is more though.

Anyone seen doing it near me will get a pencil stuck in their eye unless they can prove Icelandic heritage first.
