First game 2016/2017 - who do you want, who will we get?

1) who do you want first game?
2) who do you think we'll get?

I'll go for Preston at home for who I want, and I think we'll get Barnsley away.

Fixtures are out on June 22. First Saturday of the season is August 6th

1. Newcastle Away - A trip up there in the summer will be much more tolerable, plus gets the encounter with the 'best fans in the country' over and done with.

Never been to Mel Park and with a 56.000 capacity we should get a good allocation.

Want - a team with a big away end to boost my away attendance before some of the grounds with small capacities come up.

Realistically, they rarely give us a local derby early so we can rule out SH or Wolves.

Please not Newcastle, Wigan or Norwich, that would be very boring.

I reckon it'll be, oh I don't know, Barnsley. Away.

As an aside, is this the first season that the Football League fixtures are being announced a week later than the Premier League games? I'm sure they're just doing that to rub it in.

Surely it would make more sense to do it the other way round seeing as our season kicks off before theirs?
