Very disappointing.  Off the ball movement was poor and pretty clear we carry little threat going forward.  Proof that so much needs to be done before we can start talking  about promotion.  Stop talking the talk Doctor Tony.  You need to walk the walk.

I missed what happened today. Assume by your post we lost.

Didn't watch, but I suspect gestede is the biggest problem. Completely immobile. The last sort of player that you need in a 4231 if your creative players are the likes of grealish and ayew.

We must buy a centre forward who can run in behind whilst also being able to play the ball up to. It was the biggest problem going into last season and my guess is it's still the biggest problem

I see in another friendly Man U lost 4-1 to Dortmund. You have to think it spells the end for Mourinho.

As they kicked-off for the start of the second half, did anyone cop the lone voice singing of Holte Enders in the sky rendered in a strong Brummie accent?

Yeah, nobody seemed interested in helping him out!

Players still needed all throughout the side.

No width, no skill in the middle, Gestede hopeless upfront. I'd say we need another 4 players in that improve us to stand a chance of automatic promotion.

Of the first 30 minutes that I watched, I'd agree with this. I flicked off after half an hour because it was dull!

We don't need anything. This is a friendly, when the real competition starts we will smite everything that confronts us because we're Aston Villa.

To be fair we changed after the goal. I daresay we looked the better side after that. LTA's comments are still fair but we did noticably improve for the last part of the game.

Whilst his comments about the game were fair enough, the comments on Doctor Tony are just a moan for the sake of it, but it's what he does best unfortunately.

10 minutes

This is great. Been out all day so following the game in 'real time' on here. 10 minutes to go and we're 1 up. i'm actually quite nervous.

Work needs to be done yes, but good grief.

I'm still waiting for AVTV to send me a password reminder.
The game was on the OS, not through AVTV.

btw, I've had my new password thing and in attempting to use it couldn't get beyond the first of the 5 instructions because there is no "underlined link" to click!!!
