No skill worthy of the name. Lots of pointless hard work with nothing of note created. Bottom half beckons if this is anything to go by.

Fuck me, a closeup of Westwood.
I didn't know he was playing

Just noticed that as well. He really does become invisible in games. Not a good trait for a central midfielder.

New keeper looks OK - he can actually catch the ball.

Not sure about Elfick.

Full backs and Champions League reject have me very worried.

Why Vertout is playing and not house hunting in Marseilles is a mystery.

Maybe Baker is playing as he has the best beard and looks a bit Icelandic.

Good cross just now from Vertout but Gestede's too bloody slow.

Gestede really can't run very fast can he? Should have got that cross.

If we're relying on Justhead to score the goals to get us out of the championship we're going to be disappointed.

I thought he had got there but was just too poor to react to it.

Is Hutton actually playing right back or right wing? Either way, he's been absolutely terrible.

Nantes should have scored there at the end of the first half.

Theres no sign of any improvement, pattern of play or any idea of what to do in their half of the pitch...which is quite worrying.

Hopefully some changes will improve things in the second half.

I think Gestede needs to do better there, nothing wrong with the pass from Veretout.

Westwood has been poor and full backs of Hutton and Cissokho add nothing going forward which puts too much pressure on the midfield to create everything or Ayew to do something magic.

I'm on the more negative side of things but there's not a hope that the squad as it currently stands will be what we finish up with come the close of the window. It's a bit early for making any sort of predictions imo.

Speaking of which the live coverage is very good. Should I be complimenting Nantes or AVTV I wonder?

It just looks EXACTLY like last season - in personnel and in football. I am worried. There's two weeks to go!

Friendly or not, that was uber shite. A familiar lack of cohesion, pattern or interplay. It's like watching those celebrity matches without the occasional flashes of skill.
