Boro will turn up in there new kit, showing the Premier League badge on the sleeve, ours will show the Championship badge

It does make you wonder where it all went wrong?

Also are we entered into the 1st round of the league Cup?

It has just dawned on me - if we knock West Brom out of the cup again it will be called a giant killing!! Or Burnley, or Palace or Hull. Good grief.

If we are winning we will able to sing to the Boro fans "Premier League your having a laugh"

Christ some of you lot could moan for Britain!
They are friendlies, designed to get our players match fit, and Middlesborough is as good a run out against decent opposition as any, in fact probably better than playing Walsall again.

£114 return Friday - Sunday to Nantes return - flybe from Brum
The games not in Nantes by the looks of it.  Think its closer to the border of Switzerland.

Does anyone remember the annual friendlies against Port Vale in the seventies? There were always more Stoke fans in the ground than Port Vale.

Personally, I think they would have been better off picking a foreign team like they normally do. I can kind of understand the disappointment in us being Boro.

I'd like to pull a couple of friendlies in; aren't tickets being sold through the OS,apart from the Boro game?

A lady in the ticket office said the away matches will be sold on the gate on match days?

Thanks Dave.

Can't wait for the new season to start. I'm having withdrawal symptoms; haven't booed anyone for ages :-)

I can see the logic in playing what will still largely be a Championship club (just not in name), just one that's a little bit better than what we'll come up against.

Yes played one  just before the start of 75/76 the week before the opener against Leeds.

Only the game in France will be shown live on AVTV, and as far as they know AVTV is still part of the season ticket package

I think the Boro game is quite a smart choice of fixture to be honest.
