I haven't even read the rest of the thread but this? Oh come on! Seriously? Do we always have to side with the powers that be at the club? Why are people making a fuss about the Panama stuff? it won't make any difference to anybody but it still doesn't make it right. Why not turn the other cheek seeing as it was out of our hands! It's the symbolism. It's the unfairness it represents. We can afford to faff about with a word on our logo but not keep on however many poorly paid employees would earn £80,000 in a year. Could we have pulled the plug on the stupid badge changes when we knew we were in trouble early this season in October? I am sue we could. Also the point about laughing at Newcastle when they went down is so bloody irrelevant. We are talking about Aston Villa in 2016 wasting money left right and centre, having an incompetent team on the pitch and making so many employees, who bear no responsibility fo our plight, redundant.

Can one of our legal folks explain why we can't make players redundant, is it just because the salary they steal off us means they can afford very expensive lawyers?I get that we'd find it very hard to attract players again if we were to do it but I'd be interested in reading if, legally at least, we could do it?
Take Burnley from last season. They may well have had to make redundancies after relegation but only after their management and players tried their hardest to stay in the EPL.Our management from Lerner down and our players have not tried to save us from relegation, but yet honest hardworking staff have to pay with their jobs. That is grossly unfair.Any present cuts should start with Reilly, nzogbia and the dross that have contributed to our relegation on the pitch (reduced wages in the championship is not enough in making these so-called players accountable) The club needs to be seen to be doing something about these suckers. If they don't then the planned redundancies will further fracture the relationship between fans and players and any hopes we may have of a quick return to the EPL will vanish.
