Decided to watch MOTD as i'd only listened to the commentary on the radio. They showed a clip of Gabby that summed up all that is wrong with too many players at the club. Lazy fucker just stood there and made no attempt to close down players on the ball. That's nothing to do with tactics, coaching etc, it's just being a lazy fucker that can't be arsed to move your fat arse.
I made a point of watching what he was doing until I switched off.As Pws says he stayed about 6ft away from whoever was designated to mark him and made no attempt to close down anyone. He did however spread his arms to show his concern at his colleagues failure to deliver the ball to his feet several times!

Pearson or Pulis are 2 of the very few managers that could make me stop going to games.

I honestly don't mind Pearson that much. He went a bit loopy last season but he's done a decent job wherever else he's been I think. Pulis would be horrible.

I don't think he's a bad manager, I just think he's a nasty piece of work. As shit as we are, I expect us to be better than employing  a walking timebomb as manager. Let's not forget he told his own fans to fuck off and die, a number of press bust ups including calling a reporter a prick, grabbing an opposition player by the neck.

It's a firm no from me to that scumbag.
Yeah and Remi's a gentleman and look where that's got us. We'd be lucky to find a manager better qualified than Pearson to take us back up.

I suppose you'd have Adam Johnson in the team as well.
What an idiotic comment

Wow. Just watched MOTD and hutton at fault for almost every goal. He was strolling for each and the fourth was the worst of lot.  Dont want to see him richards or lescott again. Time for garde to do something about these slags

I hate the fucker. I used to love Gabby. Now, I'd love to see his contract torn up. He is the ringleader, the creator of cliques, the poster boy for our demise. Fuck him, the lazy, miserable fat shit.

He was appallingly woeful yesterday. Moaning, arms out, stupid gormless moustached face. Fuck off Gabby, you utter utter c***. His post match interview against Norwich summed him up. Dogs abuse for him versus Spurs, please. Absolute dogs abuse. He's nearly as bad as Lerner and Fox. He is a reincarnation of them on the pitch. Get rid. Now.

The best this team can do is desperately hold on to a goalless first half with two centre forwards playing halfway inside our own half before capitulating as soon as the inevitable happens. They really are the most pathetic collections of has-beens, incompetents and lazy arses I have ever seen.

Special mention to a few though. Richards for surely being responsible for more goals conceded in a season than any other player in history. Gabby for strolling around the same 20 yards of space, making no attempt to support our attack when we broke (as exemplified by Hutton's burst in the first half, which could have led to a chance if Gabby had broken with him). And then Westwood, who at times in his time at Villa has taken disproportionate amounts of stick but put in one of the most pathetic performances I have seen from any player in my time as a fan. He needs to be taken out, he has no confidence left.

You know the team is shit when Hutton looks like the best player every week. The 'upturn' in form over the winter was down to Ayew, Gana, Veretout, Lescott and Okore improving. They have all reverted to shit now as well. Just a woeful, cowardly and incompetent bunch of no-marks who are exactly where they deserve to be.

We need to get rid of the following before we ever think about winning:

Guzan
Hutton
Richards, unless he agrees to be coached into becoming a proper right back
Westwood
Bacuna
Gabby
Clark

I'd also throw Baker in to the mix, as I do not want to see him in the Championship next year. He's rubbish, must because he makes foolish, blood and thunder tackles doesn't mean he's a good player.
The capitulation yesterday was appalling, as a Villa fan I was actually happy that we only lost by four which really is a damning indictment if what we've become.

Well I spent the afternoon watching Birmingham's finest exponents of their art putting on a mesmerising, passionate and memorable display in front of a packed audience in Manchester.  Every sinew was stretched and bodies put on the line by every member of the team.  A superb performance!

The Royal Ballet have now finished their run at The Lowry, but if you get the opportunity to see their current production of Romeo and Juliet elsewhere on its tour, I'd highly recommend it.

This is exactly how I feel too. I've never been one for booing a Villa player, ever. But I think with Gabby and Micah Richards I can make an exception. I hate the pair of them. They are an absolute disgrace to the shirt.

Once the cull starts, they need to be the first two out the door.

From the Observer match report:

"...watching the almost comical ineptitude Joleon Lescott and Alan Hutton demonstrated in failing to cut out a Jesus Navas cross...". Also "stricken Aston Villa", "such limited ambition", "like a training ground exercise" and I thought Paul Wilson went easy on us.

I don't remember ever hating any Villa player as much as I do Richards or Agbonlahor and yes, I do remember Hodge.

I should've used the tongue-in-cheek emoticon to go with it.

Clearly you don't want Adam Johnson, my point was that Pearson is a racist thug who should've been dealt with by the Police. A crime is a crime is a crime, and, as far as I can see, he committed one (maybe more).

If you watch the 4th goal again, Hutton leaves two players unmarked just to his right.  Like I said in another post, Hutton and Richards in the same defence is asking for trouble.

Yep..shocking defending..almost comical. If you want to score against us just wander into our box and wait for the ball. No villa player will bother you but after you have scored someone might point at you.

Doug looked a forlorn figure yesterday.A sad end to his Aston Villa years, no matter how bad some of his decisions and penny pinching were, he doesn't deserve this.
