What is classed as ridiculous? Everton are valued at £187 mil at the moment with the amount the majority person just paid for half. Forgetting league position at this moment and looking at the clubs sizes and histories, the last speculated sales figures were somewhere between £150 and £200mil. Yes, this will take a major hit now but I wouldn't have said ridiculous.

Was out at a residents meeting tonight, so got home and watched the "highlights" on Match Choice without knowing the result. Or to be more accurate Match I-really-don't-want-to-watch-this-but-feel-like-I-have-to.

I don't care what the statistics say, IMHO we are the worst side in Premier League history. Everton turned up, played badly and still won comfortably. Average teams are beating us without even trying.

The defending was an insult to parks football. There is not one player who I would be even slightly bothered about leaving. I thought the manager was moving us in the right direction but now it looks like it was a couple of freak results and tonight he's dug out Tim's tombola.

Total incompetence in every area. I really do worry how far we are going to fall before we hire someone who knows what good looks like and give them the tools to get us there.

The third goal is humiliating. We had about 8 players in the box yet Funes Mori ends up in 15 yards of space to pick out a cross for one of the best strikers in the league who just strolls in behind 3 static defenders for an easy tap in. Another absolute car crash of a goal.

Didn't we have a decent defence with Dunne, Collins and Warnock in the team? Unfair to throw them in with that other lot.

Well, for one season, we did, at least until Dunne came back from injury the size of a fucking house. Let's not forget what an unprofessional fat fuck he was.

Good player though, and immensely better than the shit we've had since.

THat's precisely the problem with this club for the last ten years plus. One season. Any other club would regard that as a dreadful failure, but we're so used to fucking shit, he's seen as a great player.

And as for being better than the shit we have had since, that's the faintest of praise.

For several years the seasoned pros who were supposed to be the foundations of the team have been the most well paid and also the worst performers and the ones behind the dressing room fractures. This started with the likes of Dunne and Collins and has continued until this day. Yes, Dunne for the 3/4* of one season played well, but people seem to forget that he was one of the first ones to cause a dressing room schism in the Houllier days. Instead we now have Richards doing that along with others. Does anyone really think that Dunne would be playing any better then Richards, Lescott and the others today in this team?

* Until he dropped that ricket in the Cup final to let Owen in. Then he seemed to have lost it after that.

Collins has made a mockery of our decision to let him go. Has been excellent for West Ham, tough guy, character everything the likes of Vlaar, Richards and Lescott are not.

Dunne made the premier league team of the year at AVFC, he will be the last player for many years to do that. His blood and guts partnership with Collins was very solid. Turned up in disgraceful nick the next season alright but under McAllister he was very solid as the team improved. His injuries under McLeish were part of the reason we faltered badly that season. Injuries finished him but he was a very solid central defender for many years, at least one of which was covering for that moron Richards,

In summary, a pissed up and swelled duo of Dunne and Collins would be comfortably better defenders than Richards and Lescott.

I don't know who has been responsible for the defensive side of things at Villa for the past few years, but how is it possible for at least three consecutive combinations of defensive options to be lacking in such basic skills? It's not just Richards and Lescott, it's Dunne, Collins, Baker, Clark, Warnock and the rest of them. Utter drivel, the lot of them.

Compared to now, Dunne and Collins bring back memories of a better time. That's how bad it is.

Nobody has yet mentioned Cornageddon, the blight of a period under TSM2 until he corrected it by making us ultra defensive, but which returned with a vengeance for their first goal.

Truly we are are being tortured by infernal demons in a recurring cycle of Dante's Circles of Hell.

The only positive I could take this season is if we can take Newcastle with us at VP.

Irrelevant - and i still think they`ll stay up, they certainly look better than us whenever i see them (well, most of the time)

The "European nights/relegation fights" song on 65 mins started the best bit of the night for me - nice to see the Everton fans applauding it. Looking forwards to abusing Randy/Tom/Paddy et al for the rest of the season.

The walkout seems to have been picked up by the media which is a good thing although we could have done without the "we're the real fans" stuff by some of those who stayed. I only go for a sing these days (sure as hell isn't the football) so will probably not join walkouts in future but I applauded those who did something.

The seat banging was fun and reminded me of the days the Trinity would join in - feel free those of you who sit there.
