I'm sure it's been mentioned a few times on this thread, but: play the youngsters. At least start Lyden. Ayew will surely start and I fancy him to score. Nevertheless, draw at best.

What happened to Tim Lovejoy after he left that Saturday morning Sky show?

He's completely disappeared off my radar, just like Colin Murray after he left Fighting Talk

He's on a Sunday morning cooking show on Channel Four desperately trying to hang on to what's left of his hair.

Started off a good piece then tailed off....

They keep calling us scruffy which is kinda weird. I've never looked at a group of Everton fans and thought "Well there goes the next cover shot for GQ". In theory I have no problem with Everton but their fans are almost as unloveable as their self-glorifying, self-entitled neighbours.

Just think what they'll be like with their new money

Much the same as they are now, probably. Everton fans seem to have this strange obsession with being smart and clued up, to the extent that standing on my corner, when their coaches turnede up I used to expect to be dazzled by the permatans, Ray Bans and Versace. In truth they're exactly like every other set of supporters, except they have more irritating little rats.

I sense we are going to get beat up badly tonight - 3 or 4 goal loss and more recriminations, finger pointing, etc.

May can't come soon enough - at least this season will be over and we can see what transpires with those players that clearly don't give a shit about the club or supporters - hopefully sold or given away to allow a new culture to develop

0-3 defeat. But you never know, odd results happen in football.

He wrote 'that' book.

Do you mean this book? http://www.wsc.co.uk/the-archive/42-Media/145-no-love-no-joy

I caught a bit of the Sunday Brunch programme he presents as I saw Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats were on. I managed a couple of minutes before turning off, his interview with Mr Rateliff was toe curling and he looked like he wanted to kill Lovejoy especially when asked how long it would take to get to the top of a mountain in Denver.

Shortly setting off to try to hit the M25 before the traffic builds up. I'm not looking forward to the drive or the match. I always used to travel hopefully, but no longer: going to Villa games feels like a duty, a chore. Today, I really don't think I'd have made the effort if it weren't for the fact that I'm meeting friends at the Barton's, including one who's come over from Germany.

Another defeat. 0-3 feels about right

I have been invited into a box tonight so felt that I couldn't turn it down despite the prospect of what will take place on the other side of the glass. It's only my second game, the previous one was Watford at home, the day that convinced me that we were utterly doomed.

0-3

And if I'm in the house, Lovejoy is not allowed on our telly.

I remember season before last they gave us a good hiding at VP and I had the misfortune to get the train back to New St with their fans. Talking to a group of them I dared to suggest that if they played like that then they possibly do a Newcastle(previous seasons 5th) and grab a Europa League spot - this one old boys veins nearly popped out his neck "do a Newcastle? who the f are Newcastle?" (said in a Lily Savage voice) as if I had suggested something so derogatory amongst the fans of one of Europes elite clubs. If we're now being judged on our appearance, he was wearing a beige flasher mack and Jack Duckworth glasses held together with a plaster, real classy fella.

Now I can accept that the past few years they have generally stayed at a similar level to where we were in 2010, extended cup runs, promising much but never challenging the top 4 and struggling to hold on to their best players every season. This is why I really don't get this superiority complex and not being able to accept that for ups and downs we are two peas of the same pod.

As for tonight can't really expect anything other than a shit result and a toxic atmosphere, they attack in numbers and we disintegrate like a rich tea biscuit in a hot cuppa.

The gentle flicker of the flame of hope is all but extinguished...the Lion will sleep tonight.

0-3 loss, Bacuna and Westwood to be the scapegoats.
