Shortly leaving the Wirral, driving down with 2 Everton fans...to be honest I looked forward to my vasectomy more than I'm looking forward to tonight..they are strangely pessimistic about tonight but I don't know why..2-0 to them.

An element of Everton fans get on my tits. They call us scruffy while Witton Lane will be full of their lot wearing tracksuit bottoms tucked into socks and wearing replica shirts last washed when they were bought, or stolen, 20+ years ago. And they conveniently forget how shit they were between 1992 and 2006. 3 top finishes, surviving relegation by the skin of their teeth a few times and crowds in the low 20K region. Twats.

I'm a hopeless romantic when it comes to the Villa. I invariably look at our team at the start of a season and think, 'you know, with a good wind, we could be contenders'. Rational thought goes out of the window. Even during the season, I'm loath to predict us to lose. Just can't do it.

Anyway, I've just felt that spark, just this moment, few hours until kick-off, Ayew back, maybe this is the day it all changes, maybe we could do it after all. It lasted about one second.

0-3 to them.

The only good wind tonight will come if you have a few pints and a couple of balti pies.

I'm a helpless romantic about us too - won't accept relegation until it happens - anyone else still believe we can still get out of this ?

I read all 8 pages of their comments. Theres some hateful stuff in there. Apparently under O'Neill we dared to think we were in "their stratosphere" and the OP said we dared to think of Everton as our peers! To think this is the same Everton that was battling the drop EVERY season in the early to late 90s when we were winning 2 league cups and finishing in the top six most seasons. Funny.

Brilliant, considering the 10 seasons prior to O'Neill's arrival in 2006 they'd finished in the bottom half every season except two. They did well to get into our top 8 'stratosphere', the one we'd occupied 7 out of the prior 10 seasons.

Apparantly the club are selling off cheap tickets on seatwave for this game. There's a lot on there for £15 each.

I'm just plain hopeless. They can score, we can't. Barry is nailed on to score, Barkley is in good form and Lennon is exactly the type of player to knock one against us. Kone needs a goal too, so we will oblige. 0-4 Everton, all before the 74th minute. Factory of Sadness, indeed.

Double your money on Everton City to beat us double this week ...might as well make some money from the misery

You can get 50-1 on an Everton (-2)/Man City (-4) bet. Stuck a tenner on.

Where did you get those odds? After spending 20 minutes trying to work out the odds for that bet with a bird in Ladbrokes (far from 50-1)she eventually convinced me to put money on Villa to win 2-0

2-0 Villa

I would normally be with you believing even at this late hour that we can escape this relegation thing
But the players don't give a shit, there's not enough commitment from the squad the manager told us that

So sadly I have no belief because left, if your going to make the great escape you do it as a team together all pulling for the manager,
that we are not

0-3 loss

I reckon, though, post-snip you still fire less blanks than the current Villa forward line.

I wonder which shite 11 from the shite squad of 25 will play tonight.

I've never had a bigger discord with the Villa in 30 odd years.
