Very good. I really don't know how you can keep finding things to say.

Another good article but I have to say, you surely have a very hard job after every match Dave.

I'm still on the train home so good work!

Yes it was a good turn out by our away boys. Not over impressed with the young guys song about partying if Randy dies but as a chap said to me 'we'd have done the same about Doug'. Yes but not if he'd have spent £200 million.

Anyway a good day out... Again.

I wouldn't have done the same about Doug and said so at the time when others were wishing and hoping for it. It's only football and to want someone dead over it shows a worrying lack of proportion. Safe journey home, anyway.

Yes you're right of course. You know when that time comes when you just want to walk out and never return?

It crossed my mind tonight. I won't. VTID an all that.

Judging from the video doing the rounds on Twitter, the song you mention will gain traction and get a full airing on Saturday.

Measured and incisive in turn - your column has been a fine rep for us under the circs this year Dave.

I agree singing about someone dying is way way too far.

I agree.  I didn't go last night and full marks to those who did, but that song is way out of order.  I genuinely hope we don't hear it at Villa Park on Saturday.

Who is this 'transfer widow' of whom you speak?

Is she receiving visitors?

This line is sad but true: 'The trouble is that Villa’s forwards aren’t out of form, they’re either injured, suspended or last scored in black and white.'
