Busy morning so only just been able to check the score.  No Woakes I see so thanks to the ECB for that, though I guess they haven't got Anderson either.

Fascinating end to the season and ludicrous that the authorities have decided to play it on four working days.

No sport hates its own fans as much as cricket.

I was in the Skyline East before lunch and now in the Scrivens Upper to warm my bones for a while. Not many in Tom Dollery Lounge.

Cheers for that.

Apparently it is already turning down at the Rose Bowl, so I can see a result there and Hants have made a good start.

1 thing going against Hampshire is that they've struggled to bowl teams out so them scoring quickly in the top order isn't necessarily any great concern.  I'm more interested in us getting a score we can defend because our batting has let us down a lot this year, the bowlers have probably been the best in the division (I think we have more bowling points than anyone else don't we?).  The other galling thing is that near the start of the season there were 2-3 games where the weather stopped us getting the win we deserved including a game against hampshire where we dominated them, to end up relegated in those circumstances would be frustrating.

105 for 5. Pathetic batting display number 237 for the season.

And the run rate is also so dire.

Ambrose ran out for 0 in ridiculous fashion.
105/5. Clarke in.

Embarrassing batting again, Lancs bowling attack looks pretty weak on paper bar Kerrigan and maybe Jarvis.

Hants on the way to a big score in their game v Durham, if they win that we have to beat Lancs.

Durham are... whatever the cricketing version of "on the beach" is.

I feared they might be, although Stokes playing is a positive, the fact that their main two bowlers Rushworth and Onions have only bowled 11 of the 47 overs so far says a lot.

I don't agree, there have been big scores in Southampton all summer.  How many they get with the bat was never the major concern.

Anyone know why Stokes has been allowed to play in that one but Woakes can't play for us and Bairstow can't play for Yorks (to name 2 that have been mentioned on here)?

Looking like bears are gonna have to start thinking about the list of players that they are gonna have to release at the seasons end. Not going to be able to sustain a separate 1day squad in Div 2.
111/5 . Hants 191/2 deficit could be down to 3 points by lunch tomorrow. Hants well on way to possible 5 batting points with us not getting any or maybe 1.
