All over Poysden ct at Leg Gully
Trescothick with his 394th catch..a new record for Somerset.
Clarke 55*
Lost by 31 runs.
Westwood, Bell Trott etc have got to have a long hard look at themselves. Also Dougie Brown who on interview said he knew pitch would act this way
so why on earth did he select Matt Lamb....beggars belief. Anxious wait on other results now.

Can't fault Clarke, he did the right thing there.  The problems are in the top 5, just not scoring the runs we need to up there and putting a huge amount of pressure on the lower order and tail.

Trott and Bell have been really disappointing in the championship - allied to the fact we have no decent openers (that we are willing to play) and an inexperienced no.5.

The team is an old one, and we really seem to bring quality youngsters through.

Providing Surrey don't collapse in their 2nd innings, their game v Hampshire should end in a draw. If they get another batting point and 5 points for the draw. That takes them to 145 points.

We have 156.

Hampshire's last game is v Durham at home, the maximum they can get is 24 points taking them 169. Meaning we will have to get 13 points to draw level.

Meanwhile Lancashire 153 points play Middlesex next week. If they lose (Middlesex are going for the title), then they are in the mix. The last CC game at home v Lancs if going to be interesting.

Which means hopefully it won't be a day/nighter.

Durham collapsing 236/8 now. They have a game in hand on us so would still like to see these beaten put the pressure on them
when they face Surrey on Monday

If they lose will only take 4 pts from match assuming they get to 250 which would leave them 2 behind us with the game v Surrey in hand.

Durham all out 265, Yorkshire lead by 195 but haven't enforced the follow on. Patterson isn't at the ground today due to a family problem so we are a bowler down and I guess that is the reason for batting again.

Notts also lost a 2nd wicket 106/2 Mullaney LBW Rayner 64

Rayner maybe in with a shot of  tour place as 3rd spinner...bowling well of late!!!
