Well done to the Bears. Excellent from Poysden. Try and get a decent lead tomorrow. Will it rain??

We're slight favourites for the RL cup according to BetVictor.
Surrey favourites according to Stan James.

I had us at 14/1 earlier in the season. I've got to decide whether to cover my bet or not.

A few of our players were not best pleased at how they celebrated their recent CC win at Edgbaston like a pack of feral dogs, and are well up for revenge. I would not bet against us on this one. If we are up for it, they are no match.

On the other hand, we might well be relegated from the CC Div 1 if we do not get a win soon. I have booked the hotel for the last game at Taunton, and I would dearly love us to be safe by then.

Surrey have always been arrogant wankers, you could also see it in the way that they celebrated wickets against Yorkshire on Sunday in the other semi final. Dernbach and Batty seemed to be the worst offenders.

Such a shame that they've had nothing to brag about for many seasons!

My dad who loved his cricket, big Yorkshire supporter but enjoyed watching any cricket only ever really disliked one sports team, Surrey.

I thought Batty behaved like a prick against Yorkshire, he came across as an ungracious tosser. Also noticed their players studiously ignoring the few kids wanting autographs on the boundary. His celebrations seemed designed to wind up as many people as possible.

I hope Warwickshire humiliate them in the final, after they've beaten Middlesex!

Even when they had a good team with the likes of Butcher, Thorpe, Stewart, Bicknell etc they were arrogant. I like the nickname that Atherton and Hussain gave them - Surrey Jazz Hats.

On other Cricketing matters, The Bears are 75-2 at lunch, trailing Middlesex by 167.

So 14 games into the season and we still haven't won a toss

The rules for the toss were changed this season, the visiting captain is now offered the chance to bat first. If he declines then the toss takes place as normal. If he accepts then there's no toss. On a dry, late summer Edgbaston pitch it's hardly surprising that Middlesex don't want to bat last and risked the toss which they subsequently won.

Not quite right there. There is an uncontested toss if the visitors want to Bowl first. This season for the bears there have been 4 uncontested, 2 occasions we have done this and 2 occasions the opposition have done this at Edgbaston. So we are in our 14th game and have had 10 actual toss'. We have lost every one. If you consider that Chopra only won 4 last season, it means the Bears have won 4 out of a possible 26 tosses.
Put it into perspective Yorkshire won 11 last season.

From what my dad told me it goes back to the fifties that sort of behaviour.

Surrey were the Man Utd of cricket in the 50s - they won seven Championships in a row - and always seemed to have an arrogance about them. I cordially dislike them even now they're quite, quite ordinary.

The traditional collapse from Warwickshire. Fucked our victory hopes and didn't even cash in and get some bonus points when things were looking good.

The threat of relegation won't go away.

Bears in big trouble now. Westwood run out in controversial style following a collision with Raynor and then Hain, Bell and Clarke fell yo spinners. 128 for 6. Barker in with sub   wickie Mellor.

A familiar collapse! Westwood's  dismissal seems to have triggered a clatter of wickets. Poor from Hain and Clarke. In big trouble now. Disappointing.

Bell took 100 balls to amass his 19 runs.
