The Durham card is starting to take the same shape as the Bears did. Luckily we had the century maker.

Woakes will be a big loss tonight. Interesting choice of a spinner to replace him. Doubt if the change will make it easier to bowl them out a second time.

Woakes sounds like he's doibng his best to help whilst he's there, and making sure he's missed.  England must be very happy to see him showing a bit of form the day after he's called up as a replacement.

James Whittaker is there watching him.

Fair to say that Woakes is stating a case to Whittaker. I hope he isn't being whisked off to be twelfth man.

PGW probably buggered off to the beer tent. Durham 162-8, Woakes two wickets in an over now has taken 7-36.

I'd love to see the way he's bowling this because I've long thought he had the potential to have spells like this, he's quick enough, has a good line and length and can get movement in the air and off the pitch.

In helpful conditions I'd have put money on Keith Barker to take wickets, he's a much under rated bowler. He doesn't seem to have had a sniff.

He now opens the Bear's 2nd innings and clonks 4 off the first ball. This is good stuff.

edit : Or not, out third ball.

Woakes (and Notts' Ball) are off to join up with the England team after today, but the ECB have granted permission to bring in replacements for the rest of the match.

With that in mind, why have we opted to have Woakes open the batting? Surely better to pick a player who can bat a whole innings?

Anyway not a great start to the evening, 4 for 2.

Puts him 8th in the all-time bowling lists for the bears according to the live feed on the beeb.

His replacement has been named - Josh Poysden. An odd cjoice given that it seems ro be a seamer's wicket. A spinner who is a bit crap with the bat. I wonder what would have happened if Woakes had made it to the close of play.
