With Taylor's awful diagnosis do you think that Ian Bell might be back in the Test reckoning for the summer?
I hope not because at 34 it's short termism for England and anyway I want him leading Da Bears to 4 day glory this season.

I just posted something similar on the International Cricket thread. I like Bell and he will score heavily against county attacks. They should take a longer term view and select Ballance ahead of Bell though.

I',m not convinced by Ballance just yet (I want to hear him admit that he has a technical problem and that he's addressing it, his refusal to do that was worrying) but I agree that they should move on from Bell, I don't know who the right person is though.

I agree on Ballance, but as I said on the other cricket thread I think he'll be next in line, I think he needs to show more willingness to develop his game.

The loss of 4 sessions was no good to us - a nailed on win beaten by the British climate!

So we can get the Rounders in when British Summertime might happen.

Lyth and Bairstow both started the season with centuries.

Listening to Bairstow and Plunkett take Hampshire apart, Yorkshire have scored 176 runs in 90 minutes.

Bairstow 173 not out and Plunkett has 70 from 44 balls, steady on it's not hit and run. 100 partnership in 65 balls, 449-6.

I think Yorkshire should merit their own "Luke Haines" thread :)

Not so sure, a few wickets before close tonight would heap massive pressure on them.

75/2 off 26 overs now.

Compton usually does well against us. He has caught up with Robson and they are both on 34.

That was a hell of a recovery from 173-6 to 468 all out. Great innings from Trott who was well supported by Barker, Patel and Hannon-Dalby.

It was Trott's first century since 2014 and a big one at that.
