I must say I have never seen so many fat blokes dressed up as professional footballers as I did in the Wycombe team last night. There were about 5 in the team but two playing upfront were fit for any Pub team!

Guzan - One decent save, still too much posing when in possession, Flapped comically at cross ion 2nd half

Lyden - Tidy on debut. Considering I did not know that was not his natural position then actually very good

Richards - Dominant

Clark - won every header and took goal well

Richardson - The journeymans career is over as his legs are showing

Sinclair - looks great in 5 minute cameos, anon for rest of games

Sanchez - quite simply the worst midfielder I have ever seen in our shirt

Westwood - about his level - shame I had high hopes for him but 4 managers cannot get a consistent performance out of him

Grealish - Sadly has fell victim to all the hype and Sherwood mounting him on a pedestal when clearly not good enough (yet?) - worst player on the pitch and considering her shared most of it with Sanchez that is saying something!

Ayew - Works his nads off - holds it a little too long at times but the only player we have with a bit of skill and pace ATM

Gestede - I think its an urban myth about his prowess in the air - he is beaten most times as his timing is so awful. About as mobile as Stephen Hawking - maybe keep as a last chance battering ram

Gana - Changed the game - industrious and scored a good goal. Always looks to go forward which I like

Gil - Caused them concern by his presence and the game opened up although his actual contribution I thought was minimul

I've only seen the highlights, so found this quite useful - you would've guessed from the 6/7 clips that Sinclair ran the game and was our most dangerous threat, not suprising at all to hear he did little.

I don't get it when I read the suggestions he was lazy or didn't put a shift in last night.

I couldn't fault his work rate - I particulary noticed his movement in trying to get away  from their #20 who seemed to be intent on man marking him by holding Grealish in some type of bear grip for most of the first half.

To me he looked out of touch and to some degree constained by the paucity of options around him - much the same as many have excused Gill for.

Repectfully disagree, I thought he hardly moved a muscle last night. As for Gil, we looked a different proposition altogether when he came on. He seemed to find no problem in finding team mates with the ball. Grealish didn't fancy it at all IMO.

Not basing this on anything but Grealish to me has the look about him of someone not enjoying his football. I think he was expecting England call ups, booze, women and the life style this season with fans in raptures about him. Instead he's got a public beat down and found out that other teams know about him now and are better equipped defending against him. He wasn't ready for this fight and hasn't had the right attitude from summer on.

I understand it's his free time and he's young and all that but being unconscious on the streets of shagamuff or wherever it was isn't what I expected of him and isn't where he needed to be post season, which he carried on in to the season.

I have just read the match report in this mornings Guardian and its says.... " Wycombe themselves led 3-1 at Villa Park in the League Cup on 2005 before losing 8-3 "

I know a few H & Vers read The Guardian. I have no idea where their reporter Peter Lansley got the idea that game was at Villa Park. Perhaps he was inaccurately told this by an employee or someone associated with Aston Villa Football Club. If this was the case then it is just another sign of how far our once great club has fallen.

I have e-mailed them about this and hopefully it will be remedied in their corrections and clarifications section in the coming days. I shall keep my Guardian subscription at present but review this pending their response.

Disgraceful.

Most unlike The Grauniad to make a mistake.

Clark was at fault twicw when their player was able to get a clean header in but missed both times.
Agree that Gana made a huge difference in the second half.

Not sure many teams would fear our starting X1. That's how bad this squad is.
At least we go into the Olyon game on the back of a win.
Be great to beat them.

Cheers for that. One thing you notice from both goals is the players celebrating together. Seems to go against the rumours of a split dressing room.

Yup, was particularly nice to see Gana going over the subs and them all looking really happy for him. Still think he'll be the first one who'll be keen to leave when we're in the Championship, but he's showing signs that he could yet be a useful player for us.

Yes, I thought that too.

Nothing I've seen in the last couple of weeks suggests to me that we've got a split dressing room. I think Garde has fixed that.

Garde has shown he isn't afraid to call out the wankers. It has helped unify the dressing room.
