Although i'd love us to be the coupon buster of the week I see a 6-3 scoreline not in our favour.

I can't see us getting anything if we go for it, so it's time to start grinding out the points:

Guzan

Hutton Okore Lescott Kinsella

Bacuna Sanchez Gana Vertout

Gil

Ayew

Subs: Bunn, Richardson, Sinclair, Traore, N'Zogbia, Gestede, Agbonlahor

Not sure about that back four.  If we are going to try and go down the hard to beat route, I would probably go with:

                     Guzan

Hutton   Richards   Clark   Lescott

                   Sanchez

Bacuna    Veretout   Gana    Richardson

                      Ayew

Lescott in a left back because there are no other options.  Richardson and Bacuna in ahead of more creative players because they are more likely to work back and defend.

I think a team containing Lescott, a Centre half back from a serious injury and a raw kid playing Left Back would grind out a hammering that surpassed the beating Everton dished out.

I'd have to concur

I think my mom in goals, my sister at Cb
and my nan at Lb would improve that defence.

Are you Geoffrey Boycott?

Both Richards and Clark out...this could get very messy today.

I hope they surprise me, but I think we've got to the point where things can't turn around.  I bet most players have told their agents to go sounding out other clubs for next season - the more that get positive responses, the less likely that player is to be giving it all to stay up.  If they have a premier league future next season, why should they care if Villa do or not.

I think it's time we bought back Baker. We are desperate for defenders and we have him out on loan! Steve Froggatt said on WM recently that he thought Baker would make a good stop gap full back and I agree with him. Desperate times require desperate measures.

As he's on a season long loan I don't think we can call him back.

Ok. Yet more bad management.

Mane running at Richardson AND Lescott....oh dear.

Okore is back but he had a shocker at Southampton last season albeit on one leg.

There's more chance of Maddy turning up than keeping a clean sheet today.

Not really, we have 6 players that can play CB, so sending a 7th one out on loan is hardly the strangest decision ever made by a club.

Thought Sinclair had a very good first half last week and should be given another chance on the left. We need one of Gana or Veretout to play next to Sanchez. Both of them got too far ahead of the ball last week and Sanchez got isolated. Our back four looks horrible no matter what combination we put out. Going to a high scoring game - Ill say 3-3

-----------------------Guzan
Richards/Hutton, Okore, Lescott, Rico
----------------Veretout, Sanchez
-------------Gueye, Gil, Sinclair
---------------------Ayew

The Edge is having yet another quoting nightmare.
It would be better if you commented on my post instead of trying to be clever

I've no idea what your comment was.
Well I have to do this on my phone as I don't have a computer and sometimes it
goes wrong. My original comment was in response to someone's team selection for today.

Don't get your beanie hat in a twist.

Maybe.  But right now we need every single bit of help we can get. All hands to the pumps.
