Kozak does not exist. He is merely a figment of our collective imaginations
Pictures of him training on the OS and before the last match must be struggling to impress.

not impressed with westwood starting over sanchez

Westy has already compiled his dossier of dirt on the new manager  ;)

Gabby probably emailed him a copy.

My guess is with Sanchez is that he's been rested due to his international commitments.

He tends to miss the first game after an international break because of all the travelling. They must make an assessment and decide that he's too close to the 'red zone' (as they call it). It's happened under multiple managers now so can't be a coincidence. At least Westwood and Veretout will have been having Garde's coaching and will know the shape, tactics etc.

To be fair to the continual non-picking of Kozak, he did break his leg twice and there's no telling how that has affected him mentally even if he is fully physically fit, which I'm not even sure he is.

Would have preferred Sanchez to Westwood, but let's see.

Has Sanchez been on international duty?
Regardless it's another solid/balanced selection unlike the puzzles Sherwood selected at the end of his reign.

Sanchez played last weekend and got booked meaning he missed their midweek game through suspension. Assuming he was probably still required to watch the game with the team rather than being allowed to return to Brum early but not sure.

However if successive football coaches are picking him ilo of Sanchez I am assuming that they know more than we do on here.

If Sherwood was still in charge, the sight of Westwood in the lineup might have caused me to simply not bother with the game.

As it is, I'll give Remi a chance, he trusts Westwood to do a job, so we shall see.

Good luck lads!

Garde has talked a lot about the importance of training the team in his ways of doing things. With Sanchez gone for most of the last two weeks, and Westwood here, it's not a surprise he's gone with the one who is both fresher and better-rehearsed in the tactics.

Everton must have injuries to defenders looking at their bench. An early red card for a centre back would be handy
