I'm disappointed we seem to have been unable, for one reason or another, to bring in any players in. But I think in all honesty there is too much wrong to fix quickly & too much ground to make up on those above us. We've effectively thrown the towel in.

I understand those who say we should have given it a go but at what cost & would it make any difference?

Say we spent £30m plus wages on 4 players (assuming they want to come here) but still went down. Those players wouldn't want to hang around & would we get our money back?  Then in the summer we can't bring in the players we want because we've blown our budget trying to achieve the impossible. As much as it hurts I think we have to accept that they've done the right thing.
Done the right thing? 4 Premier League games have passed since the window opened. They should have been working tirelessly to identity multiple targets. How come Sheff Wed have managed to sign McGeady on loan and Middlesborough are on the verge of signing Rhodes. Both players would be an improvement on what we have now.

The board are an absolute disgrace and they should hang their heads in shame.

They're evidently not letting a serious crisis go to waste i.e  They're extremely busy doing absolutely fuck-all. Randolph wouldn't have it any other way, don't ya know. Triffick.

Only wanted a foreign sounding player Randy. Jesse Embeezeoni. Just make em up.

Apparently we were turned down by Imfuck Ingshit a midfielder from the French second division. He found out that we already have at least ten others with the same name.

The probability is that when he came Remi Garde was promised adequate funds to bring in the players he wanted. The stitch up is the redefining of "adequate" .  It reminds me of the scene in The Jerk when the winner on the sideshow can have any prize between the Chiclets and the Chiclets.

I've tried to occupy myself this season with endless movies, books, etc etc literally anything to take my mind away from Villa but they always linger in the back of my mind, I kind of knew the club had thrown in the towel but you cant help but cling to a tiny bit of hope that they might surprise us on transfer deadline day, I've hit rock bottom today.

Newcastle trying to loan Gomis from Swansea. Why on earth would Swansea do that!

I read the other day that Michu, currently playing in the 4th tier in Spain, turned us down. Which is morosely amusing and not very surprising, and probably true.

It's a second hand towel from Oxfam...which has a dirty great skidmark on it.

So Cardiff, with a transfer embargo, have signed more players than us.

Or what he actually said is he is nowhere near fit enough to play at this level. Which is a tad different to "he turned us down".

Why is it that our glorious leader summoned Fox to the states to talk transfers after a full ten days of the window had passed?

You'd think we had all the time in the world.
