The whole 'who wants to come when you're bottom of the league' thing is fair enough, it must have an impact and make it more difficult, but were we not able to sign a single player who could improve us?

Really? Impossible?

I'm gobsmacked if we're seriously going to go through this window without making a single fucking signing.

It beggars belief.

Maybe for permanent deals, but loan signings?

Any chance of him rocking up with his cheque book to re - sign some of the complete shite he fucking bought here ?

and they would be their level too .

I sometimes wonder if Lerner is on a 5 year mission to destroy AVFC.....he's done sterling job so far!

We could have made signings but as Remi said himself today the board were not prepared to finance them.

If you offer players enough money they will go anywhere.....its as.simple as that.  Bottom or Top. We are not offering suitable money so we are not going to get anybody. Newcastle have signed Doumbia (is it?) because Ashley is prepared to pay the wages!

Ravel Morrison would be a good room mate for N'zogbia if he comes.

I feel sorry for Garde

but Lerner does not deserve anybody to buy a season ticket next season. I hope the fans boycott him . as he seems to not give a claret and shit about us and the club .

I think it's become a bit of an excuse, to be honest. That it makes it more difficult to sign players, I've no doubt, as it means you have to likely pay players over the odds to get them to come, but the problem is that they clearly aren't prepared to do that. It's a continuation of a theme we've seen for years now: just do enough to get by, no more. The problem with that is, as anyone who knows football knows, it only leads one way, and that is down.

It's difficult to see this as anything other than the final act of surrender in a tragedy (or farce, depending on your point of view) that has been a long time in the making.

How Garde is supposed to motivate the players from here, I have no idea.

My obvious concern is if we start next season badly, will the same apply in the January 2017 transfer window?

Is Remi not inspirational enough to talk one single player into becoming a hero and helping this fantastically big football club to stay up. Is Remi a part of the same regime and not that fussed about bringing them in? I am amazed that we can't get an Inler, Charlie Adams, Fletcher, Odemwingie or some young kid from, say, Leeds who we can't embed for three months. Something is wrong and Remi needs to stop talking in riddles and tell the truth. Doumbia wanted the barcodes but there isn't another player on the planet as a back up plan?

That'll teach me, no more optimistic outlook from me. I thought we would get someone in.

It would be believable if we weren't bottom of the league with 2 wins in 23 games and only 18 goals. Some people talk like we are needing an upgrade on decent players. We've a team mostly full of one paced donkeys and cloggers. It could have been done. We've ballsed the window up.

My sentiments exactly. I refuse to believe that we couldn't have identified 'gettable' targets this month. We have a dedicated transfer-committee FFS.  There must literally be hundreds of players out there who would have jumped at the chance of a few months of Premiership wages and year on slightlyless who'd be upgrades on the likes of Richards, Clark, Guzan, Richardson, etc.

Absolutely unforgivable.
