He played well against the Albion and poorly today against a vastly superior side to ourselves and the Stripey Filth.

After Norwich and Sunderland all but blew the candle out, I couldn't and still can't see it being anything but being a couple loans.

We've signed 3 players from other Premier league clubs the last 4 years. One is 33 and his legs have gone and cost nothing. One hasn't played consistently for nearly 5 years and cost nothing and the other hasn't played consistently for nearly 5 years too and cost a couple of million. Tells a damning story.

We just don't buy Premier League standard players anymore and that's the cause of our decline in a nutshell.

Couple in we signed Veretout from a team that finished 14th in the French league and only scored 29 goals.
Ayew from a team that finished 16th in the French league.
Amavi from a team that finished 11th in the French league .
Gueye from a team that finished 8th in the French league.
Crespo from a team that finished rock bottom and conceded 68 goals.
Gestede from a mid table Championship side.

We we're not even raiding the better sides from the French league, we picked from the mid to lower half sides. Stupidity and more money spunked all over the place.

These are unbelievably damning statistics. Shocking

I never realised that this was the case.

And we wonder why we're in the position that we are.

Norwich have signed Bamford on loan. He's one that I thought we could've tempted to come. I'm getting rather fucked off by this whole sorry affair now to be honest.

The divisions losers who have given up. Unfortunately for the supporters there's months left. People are going to start getting very angry again if there's more of what was served up today. Not a single fucking player they've managed to find, they've had months to do this, from game 10 in October we could see the glaring limitations of this squad but we are going to toss around the excuses and carry on with two carthorses swapping around up front and Sinclair who'd rather be on his phone standing around near them.

Perhaps the current manager has no faith in a certain Mr P Reily and will sign who he wants rather than what prozone highlights.

We should take a punt on the Haller lad Norwich were after. Good size, young and decent looking footballer. Ditto Santos. Could get both for about 6.5 million.

To end up with one player this window is awful.

Is Benteke going to be dragged up to counter everything like he was in the Lambert days? Way more often then not if you buy players from the poorer sides and ask them to step up they can't.

No, it's just to point out that coming from a shit side doesn't mean the player is shit.

Amavi didn't look shit. Ayew (mentioned by the poster) is one of our best players this season (if not the best). Veretout doesn't look shit either.

It's an argument that doesn't make sense.

Gueye had a shocker today, granted, and we are all sick of this shit. But I hate all this reactionary stuff. He has been great over recent games and our best player. Why bin him off after today? In a normal season, you just say he had a bad game and move on.

Because it isn't a normal season. Because he has only had a few good games but a lot more dross. Because many fans are sick and tired of players not being able to string passes together never mind string a consistent run of good games together.

Wow. I am out of words to describe how poorly the club has managed this window.
