The player himself has been linking or liking (or whatever the fuck it is you do) on Instagram articles linking us to him.

Seems big at six foot and quick, very neat in the box too. Maybe the mobile forward we need and would suit either the first or the second division.

Just read a bit about him.  He's playing in the Dutch 2nd tier isn't he?

No, he plays for NEC Nijmegen in the top flight.

Ah right.  Just read that they got promoted to the top flight last season.

I don't think this is the time to be shopping in the bargain basement again.

I don't either.  I would rather have quality players on loan than cheap gambles in our predicament.

This Christian Santos fella, I'm not 100% sure but I think it's his proper twitter account and he says he has a 400k Euro buyout clause in his contract, sounds like a reasonable gamble if that is true. Looking at his obligatory youtube highlights he scores a lot with his head and turning in crosses, reminded me of Gestede's youtube clips.
Just had a look at his twitter account.  It's €300k for teams outside the top 4 & €500k for a top 4 team

He seriously has the terms of his buyout clause on Twitter?

Santos's claim to fame - he scored in a World Cup qualifier against Brazil last October. Venezuela lost, as they did in their other 3 qualifiers so far.

Indeed. Teams around us already strengthening yet we sit on our hands. It's not good enough.

To be fair we've got no idea what's going on behind the scenes.

Unfortunately we can't just chloroform a couple of likely suspects along with their manager's and agent's then say "just signed here" when they wake up.

Garde was pretty explicit when he joined about having discussed targets for January.

I'd guess the disastrous Christmas period put a hole in any deals we'd got lined up.

There's an interview posted of him on his account and above it he wrote something like '' just to be clear these are the terms blah blah blah''

The nightmare end to December, casting us completely adrift has done for us in most players eyes I fear.

I suppose the hope wold be that you'd pick up somebody like that little racist Vardy rather than a Gestede. He's quick and mobile, with a good technique. Pace covers a multitude of sins in this league.

It does Ads. It would make me chuckle if we paid 300k for a guy and he came in and scored a few between now and May and Albion have his  much more expensive strike partner at international level for about 40 times the price struggling for goals. Small consolation. Although Rondon I do actually think is a decent player.

Someone on a Stoke forum says Marc Wilson is joining us for 4.5m.

Never struck me as anything but average but he has been a regular for them over last 5 years and one of those can play fullbacks, centre half, Dm types.

Seems quite steep. Being linked with Keane from Burnley again too.

Wilson would give cover at left back, centre half and holding midfield. I would doubt Sane would be coming too if he is coming though.

Type of player you need in the Championship though.

Keane was highly rated when he broke through and playing umpteen matches in the championship should have help develop his game.
Probably the highest level of signing we can hope for given our predicament.
