The first signings Id have made his January would have been a sports psychologist, a priest and an exorcist.

I think the signing I'd make first this month would be an executioner.

Now there's an idea. Instead of a Man of the Match vote....

New equipment arrives at Bodymoor to kick off preparations for life in the Championship. Included in the shipment; stocks, a guilotine, racks and a head crusher.

A sports psychologist would be useful.

But he desperately needs a couple of his own generals on the pitch to be his voice.

The side are totally devoid of leaders once on the field. We need one in the back 4, one in midfield and one on the forward line.

An executioner for some players would be good too. Richardson and Gesteded would need to be in a fight to avoid the chop

The lack of leaders is definitely a huge problem. We're drowning in crap right now and far too few seem to care. There's too little character in the side. Most of our experience are also absolutely done in at this level too.

I think even just a couple of reasonable players could make a difference for us. I would be listening to offers too for 90% of our squad too. Take any reasonable opportunity to rid ourselves of anyone not showing the required character or anyone who undermines the manager.

Bringing in players, fresh bright and breezy might be the only answer in terms of positively affecting confidence. They won't, hopefully have been involved with relegation scraps at their current clubs. Keeper, centre mid and a forward for starters.

Disappointed we still haven't got a single player in as yet. January 10th, and after the season we've had I'd have thought we'd have at least one new signing to bolster the squad especially with 2 home games in a week coming up.
Come on Villa at least try and look like we haven't given up.

We will hardly be shopping at Harrods, so the excuse of getting teams to part with their better players won't wash either.

Is there any point in getting players in though? We're already down, the signings we will be looking to make in our position aren't going to change that. We're shopping at Netto and the calibre of player we will be able to attract won't have any impact. Save the money and rebuild in the summer.

I want our fightback to begin asap and part of that for me would be to turn around this hideous run, go down with some fight, get the team organised and playing together to instructions, otherwise we are entering the next season at rock bottom and I think it will be damaging to next season if by then we haven't started to stem the tide. To do this we need some new players, with the right attitudes, installed into the side now. Especially if they are to be foreign signings, then they need a bit of time to adapt to England and our football.

Got to be careful not to overeact with the sales, Yes, you can count on a leper's hand the players who have impressed this season, BUT a lot of these players will be useful next year once some confidence has returned. If they were that shit they wouldn't have survived in the premiership upto now. The main problem is we went into the season with an inexperienced and timid midfield and no striker worthy of the name. Apart from 4 or 5  of them, i think we have, with a few additions, a decent promotion challenging side. I just hope we don't compound the problem and sign a new team on a lidl budget. Rarely works.

Totally agree. I also wonder what Garde was promised and what he is getting. A lot of our recent managers have had a change in attitude after the first window under Lerner. The paranoid bit of me Ithinks he deliberately waited until the january window was nice & closed before axing Lambert so as to avoid buying more players for Sherwood in January.

It's ok, Fox and one of the other morons are flying out to ask for signings.

Why the fuck were they not out there a month a go, getting the budget set and finding players that could come last week??

Piss up. Brewery. Organise.

Sorry we have to fly to New York to discuss it. Use the fucking phone.

Given how difficult it can be to integrate a large number of players in 1 go, getting 2 or 3 in who'll be here next season is not the worst idea in the world.
