Read in a paper today that there are some clubs interested in Ayew (Palace mentioned) and he could be off if an asking price of £6m is met.  That price seems low to me and isn't it less than we paid for him?

Same paper also reporting that Bony could be available on loan until the end of the season.

Both stories sound nonsense. We're not going to sell a player for £3m less than when we brought him 4 months ago.

Indeed.

Demba Ba, anyone?. Currently playing ( and doing well ) in Shanghai but they are in close season until Feb/March.

Worth a punt , Lukas Spalvis , 6ft 3 in , 21 yr old Lithuanian Striker currently leading goalscorer with 22 goals in 40 games for Aalborg ( Danish Superliga) .
He has the nickname "Zweimal" meaning "twice" in German, due to a happy knack of scoring goals in two's.
Lithuanian Footballer of the Year (1): 2015
Best player in the fall 2015, Superliga.
Player of the Month, Superliga (2): April, 2014 and October, 2015......not bad for a 21yr old !........Godzvilla!

I can't see how we'd make a profit on him. We paid 9/10m didn't we ?

To the outside world he will have done zero to warrant that yet. He may well be a shining light in our eyes, but lets remember how little else we've got for him to compete against

If that's the case, why would anybody want to buy him?

Whilst I don't think there is anything in it, we have recent form for handicapping ourselves with release fees.

It could be that it was written into his contract that if we go down, he could go for half the fee we paid.

We are down, barring a miracle.  So £6 million now and a big earner of the wage bill might be better than taking less in the summer and paying his wages up until that point.  Better for Lerner and Fox, that is.  Not for us.

Gabby wouldn't do very well at the Albion. He would be up front on his own as they play 8 defenders, and it would be down to him to hold the ball up and bring others in to play. Unfortunately for him he couldn't trap a bag of cement.

he has got a great fourth touch though

That's half of his last contribution in a game though....

I'd take Marcin Wasilewski. 35, but a warrior.

The first signings Id have made his January would have been a sports psychologist, a priest and an exorcist. After they are done with their primary task we could have them take the place of Richardson, Westwood and Gestede in the squad.

Rudy's certainly possessed by something, and it's nothing to do with football

In amongst a squad where the majority of players are hopeless, Richardson, Westwood, Gestede and Bacuna actively cause us damage.

I think the signing I'd make first this month would be an executioner.
