'Some' people say football agents earn disgraceful money leeching off the beautiful game but they'll be earning their corn if they can get their players to agree to join us this month. Poor old Remi didn't seem overly confident he will recruit the 3 or so players he desperately needs for starters. I saw Deadly conducted an interview from his coffin recently, saying he'd pledged not to interfere unless his advice was requested. Needless to say no call has been forthcoming. If HDE is uninformed what hope does the average fan have.

I'd try and get Jordan Rhodes. May hit the ground running, scores goals in the championship, works with Gestede. Lambert may tell us to GTF though and I wouldn't blame him.

So apparently one of the papers has said that Luke Moore is back at the club to work on his fitness and that he's "hoping to impress" Garde...
ha ha.
The way the club is right now, I could honestly see that happening on the final day of the window when we've failed to bring anyone in.

Saying that, I bet Luke would work a damn sight harder than Gabby and couldn't do any worse than Gestede.
And when did Luke Moore turn 29??? I still think of him as a 20 year old up and comer.

A back 4 of Ciccokho, Lescott, Okore, Richards on paper is actually not awful.

I respectfully disagree, unfortunately with Okore's injuries he hasn't progressed and we should cut him in the summer. Lescott and Cissokho are two of the worst defenders I've seen at the club. Richards is a class a pr*ck and a charlatan of a defender to boot. The supporting cast of Hutton, Bennett, Baker, Rico all should go too.

Chester, Michael Keane, Marc Wilson, Geoff Cameron - kind of no nonsense characters we need to bring in

I would be looking at a full back, 2 centre mids a striker and a keeper this Jan. 4 is plenty, but you could easily sign 6-7 players and still need more. The midfield though, if we sort it will have the biggest impact. A back 4 of Ciccokho, Lescott, Okore, Richards on paper is actually not awful.

It's when they step on turf its a problem.

Have Mellberg and Larsson been spotted around the place as well?

Okore and Lescott played OK together. To cut 22 year old that has shown promise would be madness.

We need to start building for next season now. We are not going to take another 30+ points to stay up, we're down already so let's plan ahead. None of this getting French players we've never heard of, we need players with experience in this country, players with fight, players to get us out the Championship. Seasoned professionals who are up for a scrap, especially in midfield. Our midfield is too nice and too small, we need a big bugger in there.

I don't see the point in signing loan players now. Either go with what we have or buy for the championship.

Anyone think Altidore could cut it in the Championship

Maybe in a championship but not the one we're diving towards. From memory he looks mediocre in the MLS.

Yep, it's about his level. There are good players in MLS, but Altidore isn't even top 50. In English terms he could do a job in the championship but I wouldn't be pinning my promotion hopes on him.
