We need a couple of experienced heads in midfield that can win the ball and keep it, but more importantly set the tone for the rest of the side.

yep, it's the biggest wtf of this season really. There is no-one in midfield who can play a bit rough or dominate in midfield. Hasn't been one for a long time really

Even Arsenal, the nancy boys of the division, roughed us up. Veretout was outraged and tried to get in an early equalising reducer. That says it all.

Veretout is the only one with real genuine fight about him. The others in there are just not up to it in my opinion.  Sanchez is missed badly when out but more for his position than ability. He has no consistency.

I thought Gueye had a bit about him when he joined, stuck his foot in a bit but he's been in hiding for months. Don't think he has the heart for the fight. A dominating Centre Mid is a necessity, haven't got a bloody clue who though.

Oh agree Inler is perfect but I think we need a couple like that to sell a project to and get them to lead. Said the other day Pulis pulled a rabbit out with Fletcher last January. We need a couple of experienced buy quality midfielders to galvanise the side. It would help at both ends.

Fletcher was a massive gamble that has worked for them so far.  Knowing our luck, if Fletcher and Jonny Evans had signed for us they'd have spent most of the season reminiscing about the Theatre of Dreams on the treatment tables.

His decline has been very disappointing. Quite similar to KEA. Thought he looked okay for his first few games when he joined and then he just disappeared and he never really found form again...and even so, Gana isn't even hitting the levels that KEA managed during his standard performance level (which is to say, mediocre).

I really hope he improves again. He was very consistent in France but we've not seen that so far. I totally agree too, he hasn't looked like he has the heart.

We need a right back desperately. The volume of goals Hutton costs us is a joke.

There is too much for Garde to do in one window in order to rescue us. For every player he brings in, there will remain in place another one that we could do with replacing. Yes we need a right back, a keeper, a forward and a central mid. But, we will still have no depth in the squad due to the same old rubbish available outside the starting eleven. That said, he has to start somewhere. Inler would be a useful player to bring in.

I'd definitely take that Sam Byron is it? We seriously need a midfield leader and strong centre back too though. Lewis Dunk at Brighton looks big and commanding. Striker wise, I have no idea, there's a clutch of young forwards in the Championship and I think they'd all cost a decent amount of money.
Sam Byram is a quality player. His contract runs out at the end of this season and Leeds are expected to sell him in this window to get some cash.
He's probably too good to choose us currently, sadly.

Typical spurs signing

I would be looking at a full back, 2 centre mids a striker and a keeper this Jan. 4 is plenty, but you could easily sign 6-7 players and still need more. The midfield though, if we sort it will have the biggest impact. A back 4 of Ciccokho, Lescott, Okore, Richards on paper is actually not awful.
