Scary that maybe only Veretout for Red Coker is plausible in that side.  The rest would pick themselves.  Hell a back 4 with Davies and Collins would be more effective than ours. We have made some awful decisions in the market.  If Garde can improve that a marginal amount we will improve.

Surely anyone decent and with any career prospects wouldn't sign for us. If they did you would have to question their motives signing for a team destined for the Championship.

I remember Danny Mills saying last season that the only players signing for a club struggling to avoid relegation in Jamuary are mercenaries.

Danny Mills, the ex Norwich City, Charlton, Leeds, Man City, Derby, Hull City and Middlesbrough player.

They should rename it then. False advertising that is.

I quite agree. Who in their right mind would want anything to do with us?

Yet come the summer, we will be an attractive prospect to the better Championship players if we do go down.  I think that is where we should be looking and be looking to add better quality players if we go back up again.

I think it's a no brainer for decent Championship players. If we stay up, they're in the Premier League and they'll probably be on desperation wages. If we go down, they'll be in the position they are now - battling at the top of the Championship. The only difference is they'll be playing for one of the biggest clubs there is rather than Brighton or Middlesbrough.

Who are the most promising players in the Championship?

1. That right back at Leeds?
2. Will Hughes - probably a bit beyond us but worth asking.
3. I've read about a couple of attacking players at Bolton.
4. Dembele at Fulham.

I'd definitely take that Sam Byron is it? We seriously need a midfield leader and strong centre back too though. Lewis Dunk at Brighton looks big and commanding. Striker wise, I have no idea, there's a clutch of young forwards in the Championship and I think they'd all cost a decent amount of money.

Judge at Brentford?

Rhodes at Blackburn?

Worth remembering that we already have one if the best Championship forwards already in our midst.

He's shit though. Worth keeping as a squad member in that division but I'd rather we bring in someone who may be capable of playing premiership football and the panto horse isn't.
