I'd definitely take that Sam Byron is it? We seriously need a midfield leader and strong centre back too though. Lewis Dunk at Brighton looks big and commanding. Striker wise, I have no idea, there's a clutch of young forwards in the Championship and I think they'd all cost a decent amount of money.

He's also very prone to making a massive mistake or 3 during the game, so I guess he'd fit in a treat!

Dream partnership him and Baker.

Surely at the back Baker Okore and Lescott with be the main ones. I would sell Clark and Richards.

I see Graham doing well again for Wolves. Guessing we did not insist on first refusal or a buy back price like Barca did with Traore. Very clear that going forward you need phase down there. Something we have lacked for a long while now.

According to French press we are in talks with Montpellier defender Congre. Hopefully there is not a line of clubs in for him. Looks an athletic specimen.

Ironic that when we are battling away in the championship next season Weimann and Bent could well be playing premiership football. It would be interesting to put together a side made up of ex Villa players that are now playing for other clubs. Probably be a pretty good side.

Neither of those two have pulled up many trees, or any at all, for Derby this season.

Think there are a number of players in our current squad that would improve in a better set up than AVFC.

Something is rotten at AVFC that stretches beyond the players and management.

Aye, just so long as we're partial to a recurring nightmare.   :D

To be fair to Lewis Dunk, he looked a real prospect when he came into the BHA 1st team & there were a number of PL clubs that were very interested in snaffling him. Unfortunately for the lad, he was dragged into the scandal in a Brighton hotel which involved a young woman & a couple of other young Albion pro's: and although he was acquitted of any untoward involvement, it certainly seemed to have had a detrimental effect on his career. I vaguely recall that he suffered a bad injury soon after which kept him sidelined for a lengthy period, so that certainly wouldn't have helped either. He could well achieve his full potential yet, of course, but I don't think he'd be worth Villa taking a punt on him at the moment.

I believe that we should be looking at who is the best younger prospect (probably Okore) and then look to bring in an experienced strong central defender on the opposite side.  No way would I go into next season with Okore and Baker/Clark as all three of these need to be playing alongside and experienced player who can organise the defence.  Lescott will be past it as a first choice next season but useful as a reserve.

Yes, like Bacuna, not very good anywhere on the pitch.

Sam Byram is a quality player. His contract runs out at the end of this season and Leeds are expected to sell him in this window to get some cash.
He's probably too good to choose us currently, sadly.

Weren't we linked to Danny Batth from Wolves in the not too distant past?
