Remy isn't signing. Half the league would have him and, having just glanced at the table, I'm going to guess he won't be interested.

Garde would not say he is trying to sign Remy if he was going to sign him. Randy Lerner's favourite repeated ploy to fool us that they are trying to sign good players but only trying hard enough that Villa end up with second division players from Countries across the English Channel.

Get them both and get rid of gabby and Kozak.

Would love to see Toulalan and Inler join too and Cole at left back, just to add experience and a bit of class(I know Cole is probably 3 years apart his best but would be better than Bacuna there).

We have been missing a bit of class in the centre of misfiled ever since Stan had to retire, an experienced head in there who keeps hold of the ball and brings others into the game would be great. Toulalan with Veretout and Gana either side would be a nice balanced midfield.

Cashley is moving to the MLS.

The Remy speculation is just to appease the fans, when he doesn't sign on loan, they can say well we tried!
Doug used to do it all the time to get the fans on his side.

if the loan deal is suitably well remunerated for the player, he may well go for it. A chance to play regularly, score goals and team up with his previous manager: not bad for 6 months' work.

I'm happier that Remi is possibly looking at bringing in quality players rather than cheaper options, if they can get rid of Gabby then that should free up some dosh to partly pay the wages of Remy.

He might have a few quality players in mind that can't get a game for their clubs and want the chance for some first team action leading up to Euro 16.

There are going to be international players in Europe who are not playing enough games for their clubs and are in danger of missing out on the European Championships. From that perspective this transfer window might generate a bit more movement than if there wasn't a tournament. I don't know how many permanent deals will be made but I can see quite a few loans which I am sure we will also be able to do. Players may not want to commit long term, but no harm short term if it is mutually beneficial.

and i would like to see look for a midfield duo which is midfield general and another playmaker and we can make them our focus point in midfield to play with Veretout.  If we can find a ready made partnership it would be even better.

nothing's too late until it mathematically is.

Agreed. The facts remain teams have to play each other so will be taking points from one another.  If miracle happens villa win matches then the gap closes and the escape is a reality. The league and fixtures are structured so its competition and there's certainly been shocks. Plus two seasons running now bottom team has avoided relegation. If things come together then there is still possibility it  depends on other teams being low down

As much as Remy would be great, I can't help but feel he will have much better options should he be allowed to leave.

exactly and lets be honest every team in the league is a better option than us

He might just fancy working with Garde again regardless. I still think it's unlikely but he wouldn't have any problems getting into our team, to say the least.

There is a big difference between a loan and buying player.  With an experienced older player, once a club agrees to loan a player out, it is very much in the hands of the player where he goes.  The player effectively has two bites at the cherry, go out on loan first before deciding where he wants to move to.  If Remy wants to come to Villa because of Garde, it will happen if Chelsea agree to loan him out.

Ant & Dec would be an upgrade on any pairing we've got in the middle

I'd be very happy with Inler. Decent player. Peter Crouch would do a job for us too, might also be a good mentor for Bambi Gestede too.  Debuchy would also be an upgrade. Only two internal loans though? Is that correct?
