and deluded

we are in the middle of the worst losing streak in our history, have gone half a season without a win at home, are 9 points from safety and have taken 34 points from 50 games

and we are going to attract players?

there is optimism and blind faith

Francesco Toldo is saying in the Italian press that Italy's No 2 keeper Salvatore Sirigu needs to play every week before the euro's, it is understood that scouts from Aston Villa and Newcastle will be watching Siragu at PSG's game with St etienne tonight,

Hmm.

Sirigu needs to move because he isn't playing matches for PSG (one game this season, back in October).

Therefore Newcastle and us are going to send scouts to watch a PSG match.

There's definitely a flaw in this plan somewhere.
I believe it's the league cup so he could be playing.

Italian press now saying Sirigu was watched last night and kept a clean sheet Aston Villa expected to make a £6 million bid to take the Italian no2 keeper to Villa Park.

Are you telling me we are going to sign Clapton,Winwood and Ginger Baker. Mind you Mr Baker would put the fear of God into our defence!

I was going to ask why he'd want to go to a relegation bound club. However, if he wants plenty of action in order to show the Italian coach how good he is, Villa is the club to join.

We're still Aston Villa. We still are hanging onto that bit of class.
Players will join for a variety of reasons. Money being No 1 obviously.
Sirigu would be a class way to start.
I believe a lot of our problems go back to not getting Begovic, then basically making no attempt for any other No 1 keeper.
To go into a Premier Season with only one keeper of note was a disaster waiting to happen.

No, it needs to be by 00:00:01 am on 1st January or we are definitely doomed.

Ahaa...I see a Phileas Fogg type of saving grace here. If we sign European players then we have an extra 59 minutes 59 seconds to meet 00:00:01 deadline. So maybe we are not doomed!

Yes and 40K a week will keep his hands warm.

He said in the summer he had no interest in leaving QPR to join another club in a relegation fight and was better off staying at the club (or words to that effect), we might as well go for Messi and Neymar as well.
He should know we are NOT in a relegation fight.

He has 6 months left on his contract. Get him in on loan, it would help him be back in th PL and U.S., but without a longer term commitment from both parties.

Why on earth would QPR agree to that?
Oh you mean there is a third party involved...bugger that fecks it otherwise I was going to say because we will use our clever negotiating tactics to blind him into submission!

I was with you up until this point.

I'd even be tempted to bring in NRC on a short-term loan from the MLS to add a bit of steel to the midfield.
