There may be a few players who aren't getting enough game time at their clubs who will be wanting to show their ability prior to the Euros.  A 6 month loan would be ideal for them and could well be a boost for us.

that includes most of the Irish squad

Stephen Ward anyone,.....Mcgeady, Gibson, Wilson, Paul Green, Kevin Doyle even?

I'd also be happy to sign Jedinak.

I think that your post has demonstrated quite nicely that although it might be ideal for the Irish squad, the "boost for us" part of the plan is very much missing.

 :D

I wouldnt be a Wilson fan but he is a useful utility player across the back with lots of EPL experience. Wouldnt be surprised to see Pulis go for him again.

McGeady - Im sure plenty of Everton fans would drive him to any prospective club in Jan. One of these players who threatened to be a good player for a time, we have enough of those in our squad. A useful short term option for clubs a few places below us chasing playoff positions, Ipswich maybe.

Gibson - has never recovered from doing his knee a couple of years ago playing for Ireland, his mobility was limited enough to begin with. His drink driving antics suggest he wasnt taking his recovery work all that seriously. Tidy passer but again maybe one for a club a few places below us to take a punt on.

Gibson's fellow Ulsterman, Kyle Lafferty. A player with plenty of talent but another with multiple off field issues.

Mathieu Debuchy has admitted he will discuss his Arsenal future with Arsène Wenger before the January transfer window as he seeks regular first-team football before Euro 2016. “I really need to play. Didier Deschamps didn’t call me for the last two games, so it’s obvious, I’ve got to play more than I do, that’s why I want to talk to Wenger soon. I do have to accept it anyway, I can’t do otherwise. This situation doesn’t please me, but I have to accept it.” Debuchy added: “I need to have several games under my belt to be at the Euros. You can’t be in the French squad if you play a game once a month or less than that. You can’t be fit, and can’t be mentally focused. And if I have to leave permanently or on loan to play, I will.”

Asked whether he would consider a move to a Premier League club, Debuchy said: “I love England and the league so yes, of course. After that, if I have other offers …return to France? Why not? We’ll see.”

Maybe worth a go....needs game time, and motivated to get back in the French national team.

Definitely worth a go.

Jedinak would be decent. A physical presence to strengthen the spine and help offer extra protection for the back four.

Given the Arsenal link I'd see if we could get Flamini or Arteta on a deal until the end of the season
How about Oviedo on loan? Also, Naismith on loan as he's not getting a look in at Everton.
Crouch has been mentioned and worth a shout as is Fletcher. Will score some goals and if the worst comes to the worst he'll score plenty in the championship.

Depending on how quickly Coquelin comes back from his injury, Flamini and Arteta could potentially be Arsenal's first choice midfield for much of the rest of the season.

I see the press are reporting that Garde has confirmed our interest in Ashley Cole. If he would come, I think he would be better than what we have there.
