Walters has rejected a new contract at Stoke, holding out for a bigger last pay-day.

A big no to Ashley Cole. He's finished at the top level.

Good article on him here. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/aug/22/ashley-cole-roma

Yet another past it defender is the last thing we need.

Read in a paper today that Jedinak is now available on a free from Palace.  Not the most technically gifted player, but would give us some bite and would be ideal in the Championship if we do go down.

Not being funny but why would Walters be a realistic target? He's playing regularly for Stoke  so can't see why he'd be looking to play for another team, let alone one deep in a relegation scrap

this

if we are as good as down in early jan who the fuck is going to want to come to us?

peter crouch? jesus wept

We could do worse than Crouch on loan until the end of the season.  We desperately need someone who can hold the ball up and bring others into play.

I heard he had signed a new deal

Surprising as he was one of their better players last season.

Said Jedinak a few weeks ago. Ugly player, but would be a perfect one for our current plight. Leader and genuine holding midfielder.

If we're 10 points from safety come January you wonder whether Lerner will spin the wheel and have a real crack at staying up or accept our fate and start preparing for the new financial reality of the Championship.

Any players will be milking us on wages just to come, and thet'll be no world beaters amongst them. Do we risk fucking up next season on the very outside hope of staying up this?

Also, and I don't know if anyone's said this, with full beard and swashbuckle on Jedinak bears a striking resemblance to Sir Dennis Mortimer. He's got to be worth signing for that nostalgic reason alone. (If Veretout could then be persuaded to grow a complementary Bremneresque tache our midfield might really start to look the business...)

Mathieu Debuchy has admitted he will discuss his Arsenal future with Arsène Wenger before the January transfer window as he seeks regular first-team football before Euro 2016. “I really need to play. Didier Deschamps didn’t call me for the last two games, so it’s obvious, I’ve got to play more than I do, that’s why I want to talk to Wenger soon. I do have to accept it anyway, I can’t do otherwise. This situation doesn’t please me, but I have to accept it.” Debuchy added: “I need to have several games under my belt to be at the Euros. You can’t be in the French squad if you play a game once a month or less than that. You can’t be fit, and can’t be mentally focused. And if I have to leave permanently or on loan to play, I will.”

Asked whether he would consider a move to a Premier League club, Debuchy said: “I love England and the league so yes, of course. After that, if I have other offers …return to France? Why not? We’ll see.”

Maybe worth a go....needs game time, and motivated to get back in the French national team.

There may be a few players who aren't getting enough game time at their clubs who will be wanting to show their ability prior to the Euros.  A 6 month loan would be ideal for them and could well be a boost for us.
