The results are very important in the Everton, Watford, Southampton, Newcastle, West Ham, Sunderland, Norwich and Palace games.

Not so much today.
I think you will find that result is important is any game. You lose either 2 or 3 points if it's a bad result or vica-versa. (sorry!)

It would be nice to see a starting line-up and see what he's trying to do rather than thinking "what the fuck is that?!!".

Indeed.

We will stay up by winning games against likes of Norwich, Newcastle and Watford, today won't define things.

Today is all about the starting line up for me. We're just about nailed on to get rolled over. There's not a hope in hell we're going to look coherant as a unit after a few days of training, so this is very much a write off for Garde. What I really want to see is some acknowledgement that the last 4-5 starting lineups have been completely and utterly misguided. I mean they've been utterly horrendous. The worst I can remember as a fan (putting aside B teams we've put out in Europe or Cups). The worry is, if he comes in and plays something similar to Sherwoods last couple and K Macs sides, that this is genuinely our best side. If that is the case then we are totally and utterly fucked. Because the last couple of lineups we've put out would be treading water in the Championship. There's no way some of these players should be in a Prem starting 11, let alone all piled into the same one. We can afford to carry one duffer per game, and of those duffers I'd be more inclined to carry Bacuna, who despite being shit can run for 90 minutes and also put in a decent cross. But Gabby and Westwood? No way.
Gabby in particular needs to be bombed out.

If we lose it won't matter too much, but if we win it'll be absolutely massive.

5 points from Everton, Watford, Southampton games.
4 points from Newcastle and West Ham.
A win at Sunderland or Norwich.

That's what I want to see from Garde over next 6 weeks as that run of form would get us back in contention.

Today is neither here or there for me although hopefully won't get hammered.

My heart says we will battle hard and win. My head says game over inside 10 minutes.

Come on Villa give us something to hold onto, a performance that offers light after all the doom and gloom of the last 5 years.

I just really hope that whatever semblance of optimism there is, is not completely lost with the team announcement

No Westwood or Gabby in the squad, but Charlie is back on the subs bench!

Zog contributes more than Gabby.

Gana-Veretout-Sanchez! The midfield!

GIL STARTS REPEAT THIS IS NOT A DRILL GIL STARTS.

Line up is exactly the same as the one I picked, I like Garde already!
