Guys, I know we're bad but surely we didn't trick ourselves into thinking we could get a result. Even when Chelsea are at their worst we are not match for them. We can't even compete against the bottom third of the leagues. We have a terrible record at Stamford Bridge.
Looking like we were interested in giving them a game, picking a team that makes sense (e.g. Gestede playing with the best crosser of a ball on the bench) might have been caused for a modicum of optimism, regardless of the result.

Optimism will only lead to let down. We need to take a step back and be realistic. Save your piss and vinegar for draws to Sunderland at home and shit shows like Leicester and West Brom. There's no shame in losing to the Champions at their place. Everyone should go down the schedule and circle the games they expect to get point(s) from, then they can reserve their right to be angry or upset.

I wouldn't have circled this one piss drunk.

Did you see the match, though?

Chelsea were fucking awful. I honestly reckon most of the sides in the league would have beaten them today, and without too much struggle.

They would have at least scored ..even WBA got 2 against them.

Another loss no goals scored against an average looking team if we would have turned up we could have got a result against them I can't see where our next win is coming from.

Chelsea were fucking awful. I honestly reckon most of the sides in the league would have beaten them today, and without too much struggle.

Watched it sparingly live as I was at work, but just finished watching it in it's entirety. I didn't think the first half was all that bad. Grealish looked sharp, Richardson surprised me, and I thought Ayew and Gueye were impressive. Pretty decent one touch football in spurts, but our final third is just not up to par.

How no one on Chelsea got a yellow card for silly foul accumulation is beyond me. Ramires and Pedro were shocking, as was that Baba fellow. I don't think Azpilicueta played well, and Willian is softer than my nan.

As for the second half, we just didn't improve. It's as simple as that. The game was certainly there for the taking but I've said it before and I will say it again.. Rudy Gestede is just too limited to carry us as Benteke did. We had a striker who could trap a ball, beat a defender and score with any part of his body. We've replaced him with a very, and I mean very, one dimensional Championship level striker. I didn't not see Gestede complete a pass until the 71st minute. He has absolutely no involvement in the build up and make no runs in behind defenders. He is solely a lump it to me and I'll nod it in type of striker. There is no technical ability to his game.

I was not happy with Adama Traore's involvement whatsoever, and that's all I'm going to say about him.

It's hard to believe that on a day where we were shut out at the defending Champions' ground we had the bulk of possession, had a higher number of passes and a better pass completion rate that we'd come off looking poor. Even with the exclusion of Hazard, Matic and Cahill at the start. Jose really threw a curveball with a few people in his selection to get them out of a slump, in my opinion anyways.

When your luck is out, it's out. We're back to the days of clumsy defending ruining our weekend and Nathan Baker and Ciaran Clark are no where near the squad. That worries me. I really don't know where we go from here, as we don't look like a squad capable of scoring let alone winning. In my opinion we must stop persisting with Gestede and Westwood. AW had three misplaced passes within the first eight minutes. It's so frustrating.

I don't know what we have to do to get a result. If any combination of players should manage to create a goal it's Grealish, Gil, Ayew and Gueye.. and we managed a single shot on net, might've been two.

What now? I have no idea. I don't think anyone at the club does. If we go down, Randy deserves it, but that's football I guess. We're lucky to be in the top flight as it is. We just have no one willing to take any accountability at the club. Sad state of affairs, as it has been for years, but I'll see you guys next weekend.

30 plus minutes of hard work, thrown away in a second. Those who say the pass back should not happen, for gods sake it is part of the game, more important is to have a goalkeeper that can deal with it, all through the game even before his fuck up, any ball that went back to Guzan, Chelsea tryed to harry him as they know he is a mistake waiting to happen.

Westwood why oh why. Gill is to lightweight and his range of passing only benefits us if we had players who can move off the ball, we have not. Jack needs to be able to last 90 minutes, but again he is limited as to his influence due to the lack of movement in front or alongside him.

Major concern is that was Tim going for it, but their keeper did not have one shot to save, what has been said about Gestede already is valid, so Sherwood needs to look at another way of setting up our forward line .

Mr. Lerner whether it is Tim or not some serious spend has got to take place in January, if it is not too late by then, time for Bent money to be spent on one or 2 proven players and one of those has to be a goal scorer who will hit the ground running, if not your investment will not be worth the paper it is written on.

Your investment OUR passion.

Bent money? I assume you mean Benteke and if you do most of it has already gone.

No Ron I mean what we spent on Bent when we signed him and we will need two of them at that price.

Brad Guzan is NOT good enough and unnerves defenders with his antics. Sherwood knew this when he dropped him after the Man CiŁy shambles last season. He was dropped after that.So why wasn't he replaced in the summer? This just about sums the club up at the moment. Poor decision making from top to bottom. We are a fuckin shambles.

To be fair I think he targeted Begovic to replace him, I think we made an offer, but he hung on for Chelsea and who can blame him.  The mistake was waiting to see what he was going to do, should have made a last minute loan bid for Valdes at worst I think.
