Correction ! Alamy photos Aston Villa 1967-8-9.
I well remember at junior school in 1968, I think, when one of the other boys brought in the Villa team photo which was subsequently
pulped - due to the fact that one of the players, front row middle, who had forgotten to wear his underpants and had his ''budgie'' on
display! Who was the culprit?!

I don't remember that, but I do remember a famous Millwall team photo from the time which had Eamonn Dunphy (the Irish TV pundit now) in the centre of the photo with his todger hanging out of his shorts. From memory I think he dressed to the left. Someone must have it somewhere!

I remember that. Circa 1967/68 in The Football League Review. The same photo then appeared later in the season with the todger gone. The Football League probably contacted the publishers of top shelf magazines of the time to get their airbrush guy on the case.

For todger watchers everywhere I have found it!
Go and look at the Villa v Milwall programme for the FA Cup tie at Villa Park27th Jan 1968, not the FLR.

And does the todger have a name?
And Oscar, just how did your namesake Mr. Arce con/bum his way into our great club?
And roughly when?
Any reason why he left?
Thanks.

Oscar Arce was basically a very good ball juggler. Around about 1968 and I remember the Sports Argus ran a full two page photo spread of the new Argentinian wizard. About a dozen pictures of him, Oscar balancing the ball on his head, Oscar bouncing the ball off his shoulder, Oscar bouncing the ball on his back heel, etc. In fact Oscar bouncing the ball just about everywhere apart from his todger.  I had all the pictures cut out and in a scrap book for a few years. However the scrapbook was lost and I have never seen them surface on the net.
Unfortunately when it came to applying those undoubted ball juggling skills in a Central league game he was completely out of his depth.
His brother Hector Fallone was also at the club for a short time.

Fantasy football. I offer the following team 69/70 to dish out a 4-1 beating of the current 2015 side:-
                                                                                Evan Williams

                Wright                      Tiler                                                                    Turnbull                             Aitken

                           Godfrey                                             Rioch                                                   Chico

                                                  Simmonds                                          Lochhead                                             Anderson

ANY THOUGHTS ?

Dave Simmonds was strictly limited.Scored a few goals though.

As much as he is my hero I wouldn't include the 69/70 Andy Lochhead. Never scored for us when he arrived that season. Eventually got off the mark about six games in during 70/71 against Doncaster after missing a load of chances and the crowd was start to give up on him. But once he got the first he got a second and after that the rest was history.

I remember his goal against Doncaster vividly. It seemed to take forever to nestle in the net, looping in a teasing trajectory. The Holte went berserk.

There was a song which went something along the lines of: Poor Old Andy Lochhead ain't flying very high; he ain't scored a goal since January, February, June or July.
