England team named for the first game of the WRWC

Includes the Forest of Dean’s own Mo Hunt at scrum half

Great feature with Mo and her grandparents in the Beeb’s build up to the Eng v USA game.

However, the dancing and auto-tuned singing in the opening ceremony was particularly shit

4th try is a belter, hint of a forward pass out to Dow but was close enough that it was always going to be ok.

Sixth one wasn't bad either. 40 - 7 with half an hour left.

And Amy Victoria Fiona Cokayne (deliberately named to give her the initials AVFC) scores a seventh.

2nd half was a bit too one sided, took our foot off the gas after the 10th.

We're obviously one of the better sides in the tournament but there's still big pressure to win on the opening night, especially as hosts. Really professional performance and showed our quality.

Kick off receiving was a bit crappy, but other than that it was a great opening performance.

Maher is all hype and no action.

For England, the true tests won’t start until they come up against Canada and NZ.

Maher could be an incredible player to be fair, she's not quite there but she's an incredible ball carrier, just needs to develop her game awareness and skills to match.

Impressive start by Scotland in the Women's World Cup. Should win the race to finish second in the group and get battered by England in the quarter-finals, now.

Aussies gave England a closer game than expected, especially in the first half.

QF v Scotland in Brizzle, which should be easy enough, although Kildunne is a doubt.

If she's not fit, I'd start Emma Sing and keep Rowland as sub

Tough on Ireland. They gave France a very close game.

England easily beat Scotland

Semi Finals are

Canada v New Zealand
England v France

Should be a couple of cracking games.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to watch either live
