Losing to mid table out of form teams at home.

We are done at this level folks.

I posted this right after the Leicester game as scarred by the Lambert era and our collapse and knowing how mentally fragile our lot are, I was worried.

I never though quite expected us to lose every single league game since then, it's been quite some effort not even to scrap a draw or two from some mediocre opponents.

Watford. New managers first points. 7 points from 14 matches and we build from there! 31 points needed from 24 games!

I hate threads like these - Villa don't even live up to even the most underwhelming predictions.

Perhaps a new manager bounce might see us scrape an unlikely draw from one of the next three tricky fixtures. Then all hands to the pump for Watford, but they are looking pretty useful, especially away from home with their solid backline and pace on the counter. Looks grim!

We're going to be well adrift soon unless there's a really big surprise or two

Any incoming manager is putting his rep and career very much at risk.

10 games gone and 28 left to play. 84 points to play for.

Villa have to win at least 12 games to reach the magical 40 points.

We're usually safe on 38 points most seasons now. Last season it was enough anyway.

I would say 10 wins and a few draws. I think that looks quite unlikely tbh but we'll see. It would help if the new manager could get an early win or two.

Said it before but xmas period will decide everything imo. We play Southampton, Newcastle, West Ham, Sunderland, Norwich, Leicester, Palace, WBA all in a two month period. We simply have to win some of those games to give us a decent chance for second half of season.
