It will be our luck that we win the next two, his job becomes secure and we lose the next ten.

Yes, a heavy dose of Lambertitis.

To spin the positive on that, at least we're more than double our points tally, probably get out of the bottom 3 and so won't be adrift by the time Sherwood gets sacked as is the case now.

I don't dream about football very often but last night I had a vivid one that we beat Man City in the league cup final. The winner was a Rudy volley from a Grealish cross.

If they can't do it in reality - make it up yourself. I feel great today.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be very happy to take six points from the next two, I just lack the confidence to see us picking up a  reasonable points haul thereafter.

As Lee states, its what Lambert would do. We had that good start, lost six on the bounce, then drew a few in November, before winning two back to back against Palace and Leicester in early December. We didn't win a game until late February against the Albion the in the league.

Realistically looking at the table and taking into consideration previous results this season and squads, then I think with a change in manager we are (or should be) competing with the following teams in our "mini league" this season...

Stoke City
Watford
West Brom
Norwich City
Bournemouth
Newcastle
Sunderland

Obviously we've already failed to beat West Brom, Stoke and Sunderland, but under new management I see no reason why the current squad of players can't play themselves out of this mess. We could end up finishing 12th or in the relegation places, but the change in management needs to happen soon and it needs to be someone who is actually a respected proven genuine football manager with knowledge and experience...not some soundbite gobshite or someone who has progressed or progressing up through the lower leagues.

The really sad part about this is how the likes of Swansea, Leicester, Southampton, Crystal Palace and West Ham are literally miles ahead of us in terms of performances, results and quality both on and off the pitch.

I wonder if Swansea fans were about to start a similar thread after continuing their recent poor form losing to Stoke last night but then looked at who they play next and said ''Oh, duh. Obviously - we've Villa away next".

We won't beat Swansea, Tottenham, Man City or Everton. We will be bottom of the league when we play Watford at home which really will be a must win.

I'd like to beat Sherwood and Jenas at the moment.

Thank God I'm away this weekend. I've palmed my ST off on my poor nephew. I really couldn't stand another abject display against mediocre opposition.

I said before the Chelsea game we've become the team any other team out of form in the league wants to play.

It's a bit like in recent seasons us being out of form and on the way back after another winless game searching the fixture list for when we play a Wigan or Sunderland. We are now that team.

We're the only team Sunderland have taken a point from in 5 away games. WBA won't be winning many away games this season with how they set up. They won at Stoke but that was against 8 outfield players, they beat us convincingly. Before last night Stoke had won two away games in 2015, both at Villa Park.

Even Chelsea and Liverpool away, games where it's usually acceptable to lose. Well Liverpool have only won once in their last 6 league games, us. And Chelsea couldn't beat Swansea, Southampton or Palace at home but they rolled us over without playing very well.

All the hallmarks of a relegation team I'm afraid.

The term "must win" gets trotted out a lot on here. Please reflect on your hyperbole, go and wash your mouth out and come back with a more rationale PoV.
