Police Acadamy wasn't it?

Nah, the one where the pilot got stabbed and his bird thought he was doing a new dance move and was copying him.

The Magumbo Bar I think - watched it again a few nights ago.

Correct Dave.

I'm from the other side of the motorway (B35), very much a Villa stronghold when I lived there in the 70's & 80's.
I have a massive family spread all over Brum and we're (almost) 100% Villa apart from one renegade cousin from Weoley Castle who is Wolves bizarrely enough.

Apparently that Chemlsley/Vale split goes back to the fact that when they did the post war slum clearances from Aston and Hockley, those families mostly went to the Vale. When similar happened in Small Heath, those families, including my grandmother, went to Chelmsley.

I used to do a job that involved visiting folk in Yardley, the righteous were a little thin on the ground to be honest, in my experience, same in Acocks Green.

My mom & dad were part of the Aston slum clearance to The Vale. My dad reckons a lot of Nechells folk were also re-located there as well.

dont mean to be pedantic Percy,

but the Blue oyster, was the gay club in police academy, and the stabbed dancer was Airplane , watched both films a lot.

Yes, you're right, just googled it. Whoever said the Magumbo was right about Airplane.

In my defence, whenever we go to the Twin Towers pub in Ladywood, my auntie calls it the Blue Oyster, as she thinks it's the name of the club in Airplane, I will have to inform her so we can re-christen the Twin the Magumbo. If you've been in you'll know what I mean.

Twin towers , had some great nights in there, i used to go with family, my aunt was a star on the karioki , no not because she sounded like Gladys Knight , but becuse she didnt, lol

my family live all over Brum and from what I have seen Sheldon is nose territory and does this include Tile Cross too as I see a few around there now and again when visiting.

when I was a kid(70's) my Granddad and Nan lived opposite the entrance to Stechford park and I never saw any of the kids with a Blues top on they were all Villa bar a few Baggies strangely...

Lived in Yardley nearly all my life and there's no way b25 is a majority nose area, very few of them go to the games and in general it's 50/50. Now Sheldon down the road, that's a nose area, but it would be, it's nearly in Solihull.
What on earth are you talking about

Yardley isn't a nose area, Solihull is more of one.

Ugh, edited for coming across as an arsehole.

slightly off topic but are there certain parts of the city traditionally Villa and Blues? Families split down the middle type thing or not?

I would venture that there are Villa strongholds where are hardly any noses, but in the areas where b-losers are more populous there are still loads of Villa.

I don't think there are many families split down the middle. Purely anecdotal I know, but I only know one in which two brothers are split in this way. There's not a single non-Villa fan in my, or my wife's, or my other children's mother's family.

My Dad's family are staunch Villa, where My mums are staunch Blues.

I can't have sensible conversation with my mums side about football. My moms three brothers, have children in their early 20's an onwards all follow SHA. Amazingly enough none of them are going on Tuesday despite being season ticket holders.

I grew up in Solihull and there wasn't many noses around then.

Of course once they made it to the Premier League they all came out of the woodwork.

I would say from people I know, and from watching the derby games in pubs in Solihull town centre that it is about 50/50 Blues/Villa

I lived in Bromsgrove during the 80s, it was mainly Villa back then with a few for the other local clubs plus some glory hunters. I always thought of Redditch as more sha, mainly because it's the kind of shithole they'd live in.

I was born on the Pheasey (solid Villa) and mainly brought up in Streetly in the 1970s (mostly Villa, a sizeable Baggies minority, almost nose free). My Mom's family side were from Hamstead and were Baggies.

I know one family who are split. One parent is a nose and one is Villa and each of the two daughters are either Villa or a nose.

There weren't that many of them when I was growing up, mostly Villa and a few baggies. In Perry Barr BTW.

"The Club are making available the remaining available tickets for the Capital One Cup tie at Aston Villa to Blues Season Ticket holders"

Just to be clear, it's only the 'available' tickets you can buy. You cannot buy unavailable tickets at all, just available ones. Just so that's clear.

Available tickets only. And they're only available to season ticket holders, they're not available to anyone else.

Please call to check availability.

.... once those ten people have had the booking process explained to them slowly and clearly by their carers, tickets will be available for the next category - those with a pulse.
