As soon as I got off the bus you could just tell that night was different. It was like you could smell the hate and violence in the air. I've been going to games for 40 years and seen some real sickening violence, especially as a nipper in the 70s/early 80s, real nasty stuff that scared the shit out of me and was very upsetting to see. But i've never felt an atmosphere like that night.
This.
I've always thought of it as the very definition of an electric atmosphere - the place was crackling with pure hate.

I think with £20 and £25 tickets there will be a lot of lads attending. £40+ for league games puts a lot of old school blokes off, my old man for instance. Add in the fact its a night game and we haven't played them for nearly five years and the trouble element could be the worst since that 03 game.

Apologies if this has been posted on here before.  Dates back to 2010, but worth a go:

All piss taking etc aside, I was in the Lower Holte that night and if any had made themselves known i'd have genuinely feared for their safety, it was fucking evil. Even some of the coppers in the LH were looking more than a little uneasy. I have never known so many 'normal' Villa fans who were up for it that night.

i remember a load of villa going round the lower DE towards the end
and coming out the holte at full time to be met by riot cops with shields and truncheons ready
and they were all along the road  from villa park to the adventurers

The spelling and grammar are dreadful in that. The main thrust however appears to be a convoluted set of reasons why their allocation isn't fair.

These include their being trouble at the ground if they aren't given more and the fact they gave other clubs big allocations on the past because they can't sell the tickets themselves.

There is talk of them bringing a massive flag. I thought they only brought that out to cover up the empty seats. The estimates of how many of them will be in the Holte is going up faster by the day than the Greek national debt and UKIP's projected immigration figures put together.

"This leads me to another point that could prove a thorn in Villas and the WMP’s thinking"

How do you put a thorn in a thought? And precisely what are going to be the consequences of this outrage, for either Villa or WMP?

Was in North Stand top tier for the 2-2, when Stern John scored in injury time. There was at least 200 Blues fans dotted around the stand that Sunday. You could see little pockets of away fans leap to their feet and once the air, when that equaliser went in. Saw a couple get chucked out after we scored our first, as they'd been grassed up. Vilers did nothing, from what I saw, to make it an unpleasant or intimidating experience for Blues fans. The Hole Tenders might be less tolerant, and so they should be.

 ;D Bless them.

Really hope the whole of VP is up for this one, Witton and Trinity included. All i've read from them is how they're going to come and take the piss and outsing us all game.

I always like singing 'you've only come to see The Villa'. It really winds them up. Bless.

Just got Mr amf's tickets from the ticket office. They are being issued with a warning note that your purchasing priveliges will be suspended indefinitely if they find an away fan in a home area with a ticket you have bought them.

Also - back in 2003 we used to let ST holders buy 6 extra tickets for any game. For this game it is one per reference. Every home ticket holder has to have a booking history.

They really won't be finding our tickets very easy to come by. The odd one of them sitting on her hands maybe - an invasion, definitely not.

Please don't let their collective pathetic small-man-syndrome wet dreams wind you up. My mate stood outside the away end that day spitting on every b-loser who passed him on the way out. Being a big, intimidating black man that all of their hooligan hierarchy are frightened to death of, nobody lifted a finger to stop him until he was arrested.

I have already had texts from three people who I had presumed to be dead for the last three years. And yes, each one ended with a SOTV. I would be staggered if any of them have been to a game so far this season.

That's either really unfortunate typos or an invitation to be told to f¤¤k right off to the end of the sewer.

If the former apologies.

If the later  f¤¤k right off to the end of the sewer.
