I liked the bits I saw of Donacien, especially in pre-season a couple of years ago. Was hoping to see him around the first team squad by now.

I was hoping that Villa would wait until after the Notts County game before sending him out on loan.

Update:

Robinson was unused sub in Bristol C's win at Middlesbrough.

Donacien was substituted after 67 mins for Wycombe.

Cissokho played the whole game for Porto and was booked.

Janoi Donacien remained an unused sub for Wycombe. They kept a clean sheet so he may have to wait to regain his place.

Robinson played eleven minutes off the bench for Bristol C.

Cissokho didn't play for Porto. Not sure but assume he was injured rather than dropped as he wasn't even in the squad.

Another one to keep track on, Riccardo Calder has gone to Dundee until January.

Calder's a big lad. I didn't think he was a winger from the pre-season games, more a central midfielder who likes to stick his boot in.

Joe Bennett will join Bournemouth on a six-month loan deal, but that won’t spell the end of his Aston Villa career.

The 25-year-old is set to sign a 12-month extension to his contract which would have expired at the end of this season.

Boss Tim Sherwood has been impressed with the left-back who scored in the 5-3 win over Notts County in the Capital One Cup win last week.

A number of Championship clubs had tracked his services this summer but he looked set to stay until Bournemouth’s late interest.

Two more to keep an eye on then, Bennett at Bournemouth and Baker at Bristol City with Robinson.

I expect Gary Gardner and either Bunn or Steer to go on loan before too long.

Not played at all what was the point of loaning him, he should have gone to a championship team.

Huddersfield Town's manager sacked this morning after last night's draw at Reading.
Jed Steer was in goal again for Huddersfield. According to Wiki his loan period expires next Wednesday 11th November. Hope he has benefited and comes back confident.

It will be interesting to see if Garde keeps him, or sends him out on loan again.

Young Aston Villa forward in danger of becoming the forgotten man

Callum Robinson's loan move to Bristol City has not gone to plan and he is expected to return to Villa when it expires in January

Callum Robinson is expected to seek a new challenge after struggling to make an impact at Bristol City.

Unless there’s a dramatic change in fortunes, the 20-year-old will leave Ashton Gate when his loan spell ends in January.

Robinson, who can’t play for another loan club until his current temporary spell ends, hasn’t made a first-team squad for over a month.

He’s failed to find the net in the Championship this season and has only played 171 minutes of league action.

Returning to Villa in 2016 is an option especially as he is only playing Under-21 football for Bristol City.

Last night he bagged the winner against Crystal Palace and still hopes to force his way back into Steve Cotterill’s plans but his chances appear slim.

The Robins can only name five of their six loan signings in a matchday 18 and the young Villa forward is way down the pecking order.

On top of that Robinson hasn’t really fitted into Cotterill’s 3-5-2 formation and he’s said to have cut a frustrated figure in recent times.

The move was supposed to give him a boost towards Villa’s first-team and when he moved in the summer he was filled with excitement.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, the Northampton-born forward is effectively playing for his future.

Whether new boss Remi Garde will want to take a closer look at him after Christmas is still unclear.

But if Robinson is to get back on track and fulfil his huge potential he’ll need to start playing games and at Bristol City that looks unlikely.

Meanwhile, fellow loanee Nathan Baker returned to action last night after struggling with a hamstring injury.

He’s said to be making good progress at the club.
