Well everyone I speak to is riding on some kind of wave of optimism.

I think we will get spanked tonight, pissed up brummie reds will invade the pitch and we will all be thoroughly deflated come 9.45.

Leffe is being imbibed as a preemptive strike against the pain

Inaugural meeting tonight of the Aberdeenshire Aston Villa Supporters Club (Auchenblae branch). 2 members so far, myself and 7 year old son Fred. Feet up and looking forward to this top of the table clash.

Disappointing news that Gestede isnt starting, hopefully Gabby and Ayew at least swap positions tonight.

Kozak in the squad ahead of Cole, Gil, Grealish and now Traore waiting in the wings for their chance. A lot of competition for the supporting forward positions now

Looking forward to seeing Memphis Depay tonight and hopefully Ayew and Veretout show a bit more tonight for us

Set my alarm for 4.30am to give myself 5mins to wake up before the coverage starts but my dog had other ideas... It started scratching T my bedroom door half an hour early to let me know,  not that it wanted to go outside,  but, that it had already shat O  the kitchen floor and wanted me to clean it up.

Don't know what score she's predicting but whatever happens from here on in I guess this an omen for the future about whether I bother waking up early for live games around this time in the morning.

I'm listening to the wireless, shows how optimistic I am, I usually ignore this game as much as possible.

That attack had a bit of potential before Co platelet breaking down when a diagonal ball could have opened it right up.
